Returns od' Special School Election in Duke Township received and recorded as follows: The Board of Commissioner having received returns from R.L.Pate, Registrar and 'W.F. Blake and R S.' Kelly, Poll Holders of a apecial election called by this Board and held by them in Duke Cchcol Districy No 1, pursuant to the order of this Board dated the 7th, day of `-pril, 1924, and the Board having duly canvassed said returns, adopted, the following resoultion by the unanimous vote of said Board: WHERE.',S, This Board has at this session duly canvassed the returns of R.L.Pate `registrar, and M.F.Blake and R.S.I;elly, Poll holders,' of a special election held tat the Cafe in Erwin Park in the Village of Duke, within Duke School Di- -triet No 1, which e election was called by this Board at its session held April 7th. 1924, and WHEREAS, upon canvassing said returns this Board has found and does judicially determine that said election was held pursuant to law- that at and for said election there was duly-registered two Hundred and fifteen(215j qualified voters; that there was cast ;at said election "Fpr the Issuance of Ninety Thou; -and Dollars Schoold Bonds and the Levying of a Tax for thePabonent thereoff Cne hundred and fifty (150) votes, and "Against the Issuance of Ninety 'thousand Dollars c ho l Bonds and the Levying of a tax for the payment thereof" Tvienty One (21) votes, the�affirniative votes being .o e than a majority of the total registered voters of said �cho:_l District. NOW, THEREFCRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE BCARD OF CC 'i.'I 'SICNB ,9S CF HARNETT CCT27TY, That said election was duly carried affircaatively for the issuance of Ninety Thousand 060,000.00) Do lars School Bonds and t:_e levying of a tax for the payment there -f by a majority of all the qualified voters of said School District, and that the 4oters of said District zxml have in said election duly approved the issuance of said bonds and the levying of said special tax. WHEREAS, complaint has been made to the Ca;nmissioners by the Road and School Commis- sioners of Duke Township and others that they could not �e,� the tax money due their districts; and whereas this Board cannot tell whether there is anything due these districts that*has not been paid without a verified statement of the total taxes charged and collected, therefore, it is ordered by the Board of Corn: :issioners that the t'uditor render a state,,.ent to the Board of Commissioners at its reguUr meeting on ,,onday June 2nd. 1924, said statement to show the total amount of taxes charged to he Cheriff for 1923, together with the tital amount paid to said tiuditor by the Sheriff also th«t said Auditor render a statement of the amount uncollected taxe receipts how held by the sheriff,( --- --- ----- -- --- - /-- --- --- The Board then adjourned until First londay in June, 1924.
