County Commissioners met in regular session all members being present, also Mr. Young, Atty.
Minutes of Ldt meeting red and approved.
Moved and seconded that Mise Camp investigate and report of condition of Matthew= Reaves
in Averasboro Township and see if she can l9eate kinx some place outside of county Home
to stay. Also see about Sam McDougald in Upper Little River and 4imithy McNeill in Averasboro.
Ordered that Mr. Sdnter and Miss Camp go to County Home and take actual check of all County
property found, and make itemized list of same.
Ordered that Ylss Camp go to see Miss Mag Sicker at Mr. B.M.P. McLeod's and see what arrange-
ments can be made to have her taken-car of.
Loved and seconded that C.S.Cade of Buekhorn Township be app inted Registrar of Vital
Statstics 2Z to succeed his father, J.M. Code, deceased.

Moved by fir. Senter and seconded by W.J:McStsmart that 1150.00 be appropriated for Forest
Fire Protection in Harnett County for this year.

with minutes.

Moved and seconded that Registrars and Poll Holders be appointed fcr the above election.

Loved and seconded that the contracts of Health Department vaccinating all in ttarnett County
against' typhtid and o pea at rate of 25,e each be accepted.
Check of Overhill Land Company for $150.00 for forest fire prevention accepted abd turned over
to Auditor..
Moved and seconded that Mr. McDonald be allowed $100.00 for extra help for month of Jan. & Faby.
Moved and seconded -that the Chairman of Board approve the application for the loan for school
fund fropi the State as presented by the Board of Education of this date upon the same terms
and considerations as set forth in the previous application which was approved.
Moved and seconded that the County Atty. be instructed to collect account of E.S.Smith,
Chas. Rose and Arch J, Mason.

NCRTH CAROLINA, HARNETT COUNTY.
TO Tit Board of Commissioners of Harnett County: Greeting.
Whereas the undersigned Board of Education of Harnett County has been urgently requested
and found it.necessary that a special election be called in the County of Harnett.for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of Harnett County the question of levying a
special county tax not to exceed 50 cents on the $100.00 valuation of property. The pur-
pose of which is to supplement the six months school fund of Harnett County as provided
Spr under Chapyer one and article 20 of Public Seh000l Law enacted at the session of General
Assembly of 1923.
Therefore.respectfully petition your Honorable Board to call a special election as provided
for under said law. Said election to be held at the regular polling places of the county
on the 15 day of April, 1924. we further petition your Honorable Board to appoint Registrats
and poll holders of the said election to and of said election may be conducted in accordan:;e
with law governing special elections under said act.

Notice of Election for special County wide school lax.
Notice is hereby given the Board of Commbasionere of Harnett County at the rwquest of the County
Board of Education for calling an election to be.held at the regular polling places of the
county on tLe 15*h. day of April, 1924, for the purpose of passing upon the question of levying
a special county wide School tax not to exceed fifty cents on the one hundred dollars valua-
tion of propettyl for thepurpose of supplementing the six months school fund of Harnett County,
In aecordanai with the provisions of Article 20 of the Public School Law enacted by the General
Assembly of 1923.
To providi for said electiob a new registration has.been ordered and registrar appointed in
the several previents of the county who will keep the bookde open for the registration of all
peracne entitled to vlte from the 10th. day of March, to 5th. day of Aprilm incluesivei, and
will on each Saturday during said period attent at the regular polling places between the
hours of 9 A.M. and 3 P.71.
At the 44id election all those who are in favor of the levy and collectiob of said epe-
vial tax shall note a tcket on which shall be printed or written the worda("Bor Special County
School !ax",and those who oppobe shall vote a ticket on which shall be printed pr written.

Board of County Commissioners met in all session. The following members were pres nt;
W.J.McStswart,J.C.Sentsr and Jas. A. Taylor, Chairman. Also Mr. Young, attorney.
Board of Education represented by B.P.Gen *JW and D.P. MoDonald,Treas. came before Board
to ask that some disposition of the $115875.00 loan for the bohool Building Fund.
Moved and seconded that that the loan be divided in the following banks, equally:
Bank of Lillington
Bank of Harnett
jet. Hat. Bank of Dunn.
With interest on daily balance at 4%. Interest figured every 30 days.
Board then ad7journed until next regular meeting date.

Convict Camp be instructed to bring all patients to County Health Officer.
Moved and seconded that allots J.J.Cook a rebate of $1200.00 property listed by error
in Averasboro Townsehip.

A RESOLUTION.
Be IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY;
That one note be executed in the sur-_ of w25000.00 dated May 1, 1924' and maturing
Oct. 1, 1924-and bearing interest a$ 5•} both interest and principal to Beaier, at Chatham and
Pheonix National Bank of New York City, In anticipating of the payment of same by the sta
State Highwsry Commission of N.C. and that the said note be sold or hypothecated by Eyer
and Company of New York City, and the proceeds thereof turned into the General Fund of Har-
nett County,N.C.
Be it further r4solved that the full faith and credit of Harnett County be pledged to t
the Punctual payment and interest of said note at maturety.
Moved and seconded that Jas. A. Taylor and E.F.Young make arrangements of a me.
Petition to Board of Education for special School Tax Election in Duke Township, filed
with Minutes.•
A RESOLUTION AND PETITION.
VNERHAS there has been filed before the Board of Education of Harnett County a peti-
tion signed by Twenty Five or more of the qualified coters of Duke School Districy No 1, pray-
ing for an election in said district for the purpose of subritting to"the voters of ,said Dis-
trict the question of of issuing vonds and levying a sufficient taxfor the payment thereof
for the purpose of erecting and equiping E
said District. ehool Buildings and purchasing sites in and for
NOW, - THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF HARNETT COUNTY. That the
Board of Commissioners of said County be and the same are hereby petitioned and requested to
call an election to be held in said Duke school District No 1, at the earliest practicable
date for the purpose of submitting to the voters of said District the question of issuing
bonds in a sum not esceeding Ninety Thousand Dollars and levying a sufficient tax for the
payment thereof, for the purpose of erecting and equiping school buildings and purchasing
sites in and for sgid District as provided in Chapter 136, Public Laws of 1923, and especial4y
as provided in part V111 thereof.
