The Board of•Gommissioners -of Harriett County met in adjourned session with all
members present. Also I.R.Williame, 'ounty Attorney.
It was ordered that the following ` resolution be adopted:
'tRESOLUT ION
Whereas the Commissioners of Harnett County realizing the deplorable condition
of the roads in Harnett Bounty, noticeably since tilde operation of the roads was
assumed by the State Highway uomdaission, and on account of the fact that much of
the road machinery originally owned by the County was removed from the County by th
State Highway Commission, it is o ^dered by the Board of 9ommissioners cif 'Harnett
County that the State Highway "o maission be urged to make an investigation of the
condition of roads in Harnett County and take immediate action with a view of
improving road conditions in said County,
It was ordered that an appropriation of $625.00 be made for negro supervision work.
It was ordered that the jailor be allowed only fifty cents per day for the keep
of prisoners instead of the present sixty five cents:
It was ordered that Cariile Core be released from the payment of poll tax for
the year 1931 in Averasboro Townaaip
It was prdered ghat the approval of the Board of Commissioners be obtained by
any person or corporation desiring to operate a pool or billiard table in the'
County and` that all applications for license be published two weeks in some news
Paper published in the county and and also by posting at three conspicuous places
in the County.
It was then ordered that the Board adjourn until !august 10th.1931.

The proposition of organizing a Jounty Court was discussed with the members of
the Board of `Commissioners of th. Town of Dunn and it was ordered that a Com-
mittee composed of County Commis>ioners, Cooke, Tnnis and O'jxinn, Town Commission-
er of Dunn, C.B. Aycock; Lawyers, Salmon, F.T.Dupree and James Best and Auditor,
J.S.,McLean be appointed' to make an investigation of the advisability; of creating
this Court, the machinery for which was passed by the General Assembly of North
Carolina sveral years ago. The (committee to report at the meeting of the Board on
the First Monday in September, 1031.
