HomeMy WebLinkAbout0406193150 it 6th. 1931. .The Board of county Commissioners met in regular Cession with the fol- lowing members present: J.W. Raiford, _:chairman, J.B. Ennis, R.L. Cooke, J.H. Williams and H.M. O'$uinn. I.R.illiams, bounty Attorney was also present. It was ordered by the Board that the question of'locating the bounty line between Johnston and Wake and Harnett teanties be postponed insofar as Harnett County is concerned unj;il such time as the financial condition of the County will permit. It was also ordered that the Authorities of each Bounty in question be notified of the action of this Board. It was ordered that report of R.G.B. Shaw, Tax gollector, be aceepted and filed. It was ordered thst Report of L.M. Court and as 91erk of Retarder's uourt be for $159.61 and *20475, respectively, be Auditor. It was or red that the Report of the retiring Road 4ommissioners be accepted and fil d and ordered recorded in the minutes. It was ordered that report of J.B. Ennis, X.L. Cooke and J.S• McLean verbally made, showed eo nvict Camp to be in good shape and excellent condition teams in No. 1 condition, equipment also found to have been well taken care of and no complaints made by eonviets, office and dining rooms and camp in very satisfactory condition. On behalf of the Board of 'ommissioners, Dr. Raiford, Chairman, express ed the thanks of the Board of Bounty Commissioners to the Board of Road dom- missioners for their loyal and efficient service and the very excellent eondition of roads and road equipment turned over to the Aaunty Commissioners this day. It was ordered that the Board of Saunty Commissioners, acting in the capacity. of Road Commissioners, shall meet on the first Thursday in eaeh month for the purpose of transacting any business in connection with Road work in Harnett Bounty. It was ordered that the salary of J.S. McLean, Auditor be increased fro $125.00 to $175900 per month and that the salary of H.S. Freeman, Asst. Auditor be increased from $75.00 ton$125.00 per month. This action to be re- troactive. It is ordered that the taxable valuation of the farm of J.P. Jones Black 'fiver Township for the year 1930, be reduced by $935.95, which amount represents 500 of the outstanding purchase notes of his homestead, properly listed and tax -paid by the holders, residents of Harnett qounty. Lynch of Hec torts Creek Township, Harnett Oounty, be relieved of taxation on valuation of *1500■00 for years 1929 and 1930, on account of loss by fire of residence on 187 acres in Marsh, 1929, the valuation of 186 acres to be reduced from $8261.0 to $6761.00. The Board of Oommissioners met in call session with the following members Dr. J.W. Halford, Ghairman, E.L. Cooke, J.B. Ennis, H.M. O'giinn and J.H. Williams It. was moVed by E.L. "poke and seconded; by, J.B. Ennis that the former action•of the Board dis- allowing payment of telephone hill in'Glerkts office be rescinded, and that prior tills be paid. It was ordered that /320.00 be added to that tract of land formerly owned by Oscar Spears and acquired from J.N. Fuquay by A.A. McDonald on account of number of acres.' Resolved that J.S. McLean. Go. Auditor, be and is hereby authorized and fully empowered to accept from the Prudential Insurance Gompahy of &nerlc moneys, due for taxes 04 the lands described in the two deeds of trust executed. by A.A. McDonald and wife to Chickamauga Trust Company, 'Trustee, both being recorded in office of Register of Deeds of this county on a basis: of pro. rata tax and issue proper receipts showing that taxes have, been fully paid on said two tracts described in the two said deeds of Trust.
