March 9th. 1931.
The Board of tonnty Commissioners met in call sessioh with all members
present. Also, I.R. Williams, Bounty Attorney.

It was ordered that R.G.B. Shaw, Tax collector, be instructed not to charge
any penalty on tax collections until gay let. 1931.
It was ordered that Odell McNeill who has been sentenced to serve 8 months
in the county Jail be hire& out to N.T. Johnson upon condition that said
Johnson'provide a $200.00 bond for his securety during this period. The
County Sttorney to draw the contract and prepare bond.
It was ordered that the incoming Supt. of Roads be instructed to fix the
salaries of Maintenance men and truck drivers at wages of 43.00 for Maintenance
and 42.00 for truck dllvers, execpt in cases where their capability affects
the welfare of the road work'

Resolved further that copies of this resolution be forwarded to Constar
Baggett and Rep. J.R' Young.
The above resolution was unanimously adopted by a vote of the Board.
It was ordered that the Chair appoint a committee to investigate the
advisability of organising a ounty Court, the legal machinery for which
was passed by the General Aastmbly several years ago, The Chairman thereupon
appointed to this "omittee County Attorney, I.R•Nilliams and omsisaionera
Cooks and Ennis, the `committee to make this investigation and feport their
findings to the next fleeting of the Board.
It was ordered that $en. Haggett and Rep. bung be instructed to din- approve

demption ofTand sold for taxes in Harnett "aunty and postpone the enforced
collection of 1930 taxes in said 'aunty or Any Municipality of said ' ounty"
RESOLUTION:
*areas, at the regular meetin g of the Board of bounty Commissioners held
Monday, March 2, 1931, it was ordered by said Board that the judgment there-
tofore obtained by W.D. Page against the members of the Harnett -ounty Road
Commission and Superintendent Ballard, in their official eapactids, for
$200.00, and costs, be nettled for $100.00; and that in eon&ideration of the
payment of said sum that a consent judgment be entered in the case now on
appeal from the said judgment:
Now Therefore, Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett `'Aunty
that an appropriation of the sum of $100.00 be, and the same is, hereby'made
to be paid to W.D• lege in full satisfaction of his rights, claims and judg-
ment against the members of the said Harnett `aunty Road Commission, said sum
so appropriated to be paid from the unineumbeied balance in the miscellaneous
funds of the 4ounty of Harnett/ All voting in favor of above resolution.

RESOLUTION:
Resolved by the Board of lommieaioners of Harnett County:
That we recommend that all schools of the County bii closed when the constitu-
tional term of nix months shall have been completed, exeopt in those districts
in which the special taxes due such districts shall have b son actually col-
lected; also in such diwtrictsthat the term may be extended to such extent as
the special taxes actually colleoted may justify.
