The Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County met in regular
Session with all members present. Also I.R. Williams, `'ounty Attorney.
By request of the County Commissioners the Board of Road Commissioners
met with the County Board in joint session for the purpose of discussing Load
work in the county.
It was ordered that the following act es,Committee to investigate
the condition of the County Jail and report at next meeting: E.L. Cooke, J.H.
Williams end H.M. O'Quinn.
It was ordered that the bill of Highsmith Hospital be not paid and
that they be instructed to send same to Nash County.
It was moved by E.L. Cooke and seconded by J.H. Williams that J.0.
Anthony be employed as County Farm Agent for Harnett County, his service to
begin when it is found that necessary funds can be obtained to support this
work. A committee composed of J.H. Williams, H.M. O'Quinn and J.S. McLean,
County Auditor were appointed to investigate the posibility of securing
these funds.
It was ordered that bill of R.G.B. Shaw, Tax Collector, for December
tax collections be deferred for investigation.

ceeding fiscal year, and issue notes therefor, dated Jan. 19th.1931, and

able at meturety, principal and interest payable at The ChaseNational Bank, in
New York, N.Y., in denomination of 35000.00 each and issued in substantially

and Edwin Harrington, Clerk of said Board; and the Chairman and Clerk of said

and the bounty Treasurer is authorized and directed to deliver the same in
accordance with said sale on receipt of the purchase price of said notes.

It was ordered that D.B. Williford be allowed $10.00 per month for
the care of Bob Johnson, who is now an inmate of the County Home.
It was ordered that E.L. Cooke and J.B. Ennis be appointed a Committee
to act with Prof. Gentry in determining the location of property of N.I.
Reardon and R.S. Matthews in regard to Special School Tex in District #34
Black River Township.
It was ordered by the Board that B.W. Weathers not be allowed credit
for interest charged him on account of delinquent taxes.
It was ordered that Mrs. Lucinda Gilbert be allowed $10.00 per month
instead of $8.00 per month as at-present and that check be mailed to Joe
Johnson, Fuquay Springs, N.C• #1.
It was moved by E.L. Cooke and seconded by J.B. Ennis that N.I. Reardon
ImmEgaieved of $6.13, Special School tax in District No 34 Black River
as he sends his children to Buies Creek. This mption was adopted by
a
unanimous vote of the Board
It was ordered that R.S. Matthews be releived of$ ,Special School
Tax in District No. 34, Black River Township, as he is not in that District.
It was ordered that Statement of Board of Education showing the
necessary etpenditures for Schools for January amounting tp $35,000.00 for
Current Expense; $`'2,650.00 for Capital Outlay and 012,350.00 for Debt Service
be filed.

By actual county we found 97 blankets instead of 18
as was formerly reported; 21 apeards insted of 18 as reported; 25
mattresses instead of 21 as reported.
