December 2nd. 1930.
The Board of Commissioners *et in session with all members
present to complete business carried over from Monday.
It was moved and seconded that C.H. Brown be empowered to
act as Solicitor of the Recorder's Court for Tuesday, December 2, 1930.
It was moved mid sans -by H *M. O'Quinn and seconded by
E.L. Cooke that J.3. McLean be elected Auditor of Harnett County. His
election was made by a unanimous vote of the Board.
It was moved by E.L. Cooke and seconded by J.B. Ennis that
H.S. Freeman by appointed Assistant Auditor. By a vote of the Board his
election was made unanimous.
It was moved by H.M. O'Quinn and seconded by J.B. Ennis
that J.S. McLean, Auditor and H.S. Freeman, Assistant Auditor, be each
required to furnish a 310000.00 bond for the faithful performance-of
their respective duties. This action was done by a unanimous vote of the
Board.
It was ordered that Mrs. Anne B.Lewis be allowed traveling
expenses for transporting negro to Sanford.
It was ordered that the Commisssioners es a body act as
e Committee to investigate with T.R. Brown the condition of the County
Home.
It was ordered that the bond of A.F. Fowler, Sheriff with
Standard Accident Insurance Company for $000.00 be accepted and that
the same be recorded in the Minute Docket.
It was ordered that the Bond of Edwin Harrington, Register
of Deeds with Standard Accident Insurance Company for $5000.00 be
accepted and that same be reoorded in the Minute Docket.
It was ordered that the Bond of L.M. Chaffin, C.3.0. with
U.S. Fidelity and Guarenty Company for $10000.00 be accepted and that
same be recorded in the Minute Docket.
It was ordered that J.E. White be requested to continue
his services as Assistant Auditor for 60 days et his present salary.
It was moved by H.M. O'Quinn and seoonded by J.H. Williams
that H,A. Turlington be appointed Tax Supervisor for Harnett County. He
was unanimously elected by the Board.
It was moved by J.H. Williams and seoonded by H.M. O'Quinn
that H.C. Strickland be elected Solicitor of the Recorder's Court of
Harnett County. He was elected by a unanimous vote of the Board.
It was moved by E;1.. Cooke and seconded by J.B% Innis that
Ors. T.B. Brown be appointed Suberintendent of the County Home. She was
duly elected by a unanimous vote of the Board.
It was moved by E.L. Cooke and seconded by J. B. Ennis
that J.N. Fuqusy be appointed Vice- Recorder of the Recorder's Court. Ht
was elected by a unanimous vote of the Board.
It was ordered that the Clerk to the Board notify all Regis
trars of Vital Statistics of their appointment and that • list of these
appointments be forwarded to the State Board of Health.
It was ordered that all cheoks to be drawn for the Harnett
County Road Commission be drawn in the Auditor's Office and that the
salary of $35.00 formerly paid for this work be discontinued.
It is further ordered that no bills incurred by the Road
Commission be paid unless itemized and verified according to law.
It was ordered that J.E. White, Assistant Auditor, prepare
a complete list of all certificates of Bales for taxes showing the amount
due on each certificate, the cost attached to 'soh certificate and
the apporximate value of each certificate.

may have been committed by said Principal up to the date of such cancells

appointed Sheriff of Harnett "ounty, NOrth Carolina for the term begin-
ning December 1, 1920,and ending December 1, 1932.
NOW, THEREFORE, 'he condition of the above obligation is such, that
if the bounden Arthur Franklin Fowler shall well and faithfully oerform
all the duties of his said office of Sheriff of Harnett County, N.C.
as required by law, then this obligation to be null and void; otherwise
to be and remain in full force and virtue.
