The County Commissioners met in call session with the following members
present: C. H. Pope, Vice Ohm. Stuart Turlington, Wm. Morgan, W. C. Loudermilk,
J. 0. West, Co. Atty.
The meeting was called to order by the Vice Chairman.
It is ordered that the Chairman appoint a Committee to confer with Mr. Bal
of the Raleigh Blue Printers as to the No. of Maps that should be left out of
the Photostatic Copy, which is to be made for the county by the above firm.
The bill is to be taken care of in the 1930 -1931 budgett. The Committee
appointed to confer with Mr. Ball are J. E. Dupree, County Auditor, J. Q. West,
Co. Atty. Thad H. Pope, Register of Deeds. C. H. Pope, Comm.
It is ordered that M. L. Ballard road Supvr. repair the river Bridge acros
the Cape Fear River at Erwin, N.0 and if necessary he is authorized to employ t e
State Highway Comm. to make the necessary repairs.
It is ordered that the Board of Education be permitted to employ an;additi•n-
al teacher for the sixth Grade in Boon Trail School District No. 80.
It is ordered that the report of John Green Tax Oolleotor for the Taxes
levied for the year 1928 be accepted.

It is ordered that the following privilege taxes be levied by the county
of Harnett fo the year 1929 -30. as set out in schedule B. of the Machinery Act.
of 1929.
It is ordered that Claude E. Pope, be appointed to collect the privilege
tax of Harnett County and to collect the insolvent tax list or as much of as
tarn be colleqcted at the rate of 50$ of the amount collected.

It1/41is ordered that the/$o1nd of R. G. B. Shaw, Tax "ollector, executed by
the Mass. Bonding Ins. Oo. in the sum of $50,000 be accepted and approved and
the tax books to be delivered to the said Tax collector not later than Oct 16,
1929 and he is hereby ordered to collect the 1929 Taxes. Said bond is tendered
the Mass. Bonding and Insurance Co. to be delivered on the condition that a

daily deposit bond -be given by the First and Citizens National Bank of Dunn N
which has been designated by this board as the depository of the daily deposits
said Tax collector, •
The tax collectors salary is to be $5500.00 per year. The said Tax Colle
to pay for bond and all other expenses.
It is ordered that the tax collector be permitted to give a l %o discount
for all taxes paid during the month of Oct, and for the month of November, at par. for Dec. jenalty for January 1% for February and thereafter.
It is ordered that J E. Dupree, Co. Auditor, issue a County Voucher to p
transportation of to Greenville, S. C. It being recommended'
