The Minutes were read and approved. IESOLUTION It is ordered by tithe °Board of Comm. of Harnett County that John Sreen, Tax Collector be instrucpted to Continue the sale of taxes on property that has been duly advertised for on- payment of 1928 taxes. The sale shall be continued< from day to day until the first Monday in July 1929 at which time the sale shall be and is hereby authorized by the Board of Comm. of Harnet t County wifhout further advertisement. In the meantime John Green is authorized to ire every lawful means of collecting unpaid taxes for the year 1928. Resolution passed by Board. It is ordered by the Board that the Township list — takers have the tax list in the Auditor's office by June 15th, and that those who fail to list within the time limited shall be subject to a -25% penalty of the property subject to taxation. It is ordered that the County Auditor be authorized to refund the difference in the valuation of property listed by J. This is to certify that the Board of Education of Harnett County has modified the general county Side plan of schools, and in such modification ha: constituted all of the following described territory into one school _d strict to be hereafter known as Harnett County School District No. 53; Beginning in run of Black' River Where Coats and Sorrell Districts now join, follow said run of Black River to Southern line of A. L. Sorrell estate, thence with waid A. L. Sorrell line to the Averasboro and Grove Township line at Burlington's Grove, colored church and school; thence with said towns. line to old Dunn and Lillington road to State Highway No. 210 at Turiington's Cross roads; thence north with No. 210 to present Turlington and Coats distri. lines. MIDYETTE, JUDGE presiding; We, the Grand Jury for the May term 1929 of the Superior court of Harnett County, do hereby submit this as our report covering our transactions and redommendations during said term 1: We have diligently inquired into and carefully considered all bills broug t before us and have made returns accordingly. 2- We inspected the County Home and fund it not kept as well as it should be and from information given us we recommend that the Supt. be requred to devote more of tils time to the Supervision of said County Home. We recommena also that a telephone be installed in the County Home. 3- We have inspected the Convict Camp an sanitary condition except as follows: Therefshould be furnished atronce a separate compartment for those with infectious diseases. Thereshould be garbage cans with covers. We found the prionsers were being well taken care of and there were no complaints other than that a man with a fearful veneral disease was-in a cag- with the other colored prisoners and for 10 days had a cot next to that of a 16 year old boy. This prisoner had hot yet had necessary medical attentio 4- We inspected the Jail & found it in excellent condition.
