WHEREAS, under the present plan of County government the duties of th
County attorney have multiplied, and war. 3. west has explained that the co
ensation received by him is insufficient to defray the acutal .. expenses he mus
incur in his work and leave anything for himself as attorney, and has asked f
increase in pay; and,
WHEREAS, J. E. Dupree, auditor, is in daily attendance upon the duti
of his office and the business of taxes in this county is closely associated
present work of the auditor; and,
WHEREAT, the duties properly belonging to the Auditor office are
varied and increasing, with the result that 3. E. Dupree has asked for an all
in addition to his salary; and,
VVCERFAS , the said increased expenditures cannot be made unless there
some economy effected elsewhere or in the departments concerned:
THEREFORE, Be it Resolved: (1) That J. O Jest, County Attorney,t
allowed wp per month, in addition to all other compensation now received b
him (2) ThaFin addition to the duties attached to the office of Auditor, J.
Dupree be, and he is hereby appointed, and bhat he be allowed the stem of $18010
per year, payable 4150. monthly, for such clerical help to be selected by him
and that in order to effect these changes, and in the interest of economy,
(3) The office of County manager be, and the same is, hereby abolished, and t
services of Per. B. H. Senter, Bounty Manager,fedispensed with hencefor th.

IT IS ORDERED BY THE BOARD, that the order passed by this board on

It is ordered that the Sheriff be allowed $125.00'per montj for the
next three months of April, Nay & June, This allowance is for the purpose o

Commissioners of Harnett County -- Greetings:
This is to certify that the Board of Education of Harnett County
has modified the general county wide plan of schools, and in such modification
constituted` all of the following described territory into one school district
to be hereafter known as Harnett County School District No. 32;
Beginning at a point in the center of the old: plank road where the
said road intersects the western boundary line of Lee County and running then

the western boundary line of Harnett County to a stake on the said
voundary line in the Line of District No. 30; thence southeasterly with the
boundary iLne of District Uo. 30 to Upper Little _ziver; thence down the
river with the line of "District 1o. 80 to the point ::here the line of
District No. 80 leaves the river in a southern direction into Barbecue
Township; thence continuing with the line of District ;o. 30 to Upper
Little river; thence with the river to the -- nde_ssn Creek township line;
thence with the line of -= nderoon Creek 2oernship to the old plank road at,
or near spout springs; thence crossing the said road at Spomt Springs and
following the western boundary line of District ho. 11 in Johnsonville
Township to the Cumberland County line; thence with the Cumberland County
line to the Hoke County line; thence with the Hoke County line to the t-loore

necessary, to the old plank road, the beginning point.
Phe board of Education respectfully requests that Your Honorable
Bo -_rd call an election in said territory under the provision of Chapter
131 of the public Laws of 1827 for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
voters of said territory the question of voting a special tax in said district
of Forty (40) cents on the one hundred Dollars of property valuation in

RESOLUTION of the i u rd of County Commissioner of Harnett
County calling a Special Election in Harnett County School
District No. 32.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board at its regular
meeting on the First Monday in May, 1929, a certific to of the Board of
Education of Iiarjett County to the elect .hat the said Board of Education
has modified the .general county wide plan of schools for said county, and
in such modificr.tion has constituted all of the territory hereinafter
described into one schooldistrict to be hereafter :unown as Harnett County
School District No. 32; and,
',Whereas, under Section 3 of Chapter 131 of the Public Laws of North
Carolina of 1927 no such new district shall be deemed to be created unless
and until a uniform tax rate stall thve been voted as provided for in said
act.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board ofCommissioner•s of
Harnett County in riular session assembled on Monday, May 6th, 1929, that
an election be, and the same is he2eby called to be held in the following
described territory on Tuesday, June 10th, 1929, for the purpose of sub-
mitting ;o the qualified voters of said school district the question of
voting a Special Tax of Forty (40) cents on the one hundred dollars of
property valuation in s id district, to supplement the funds for the six
months school term as now provided for by law, the boundaries of which
district are as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the center of the old plank road where the
said road intersects the western boundary line of Harnett, at, or near the
southeastern boundary line of Lee county and running thence with the west-
ern boundary line of Harnett County to a stake on the said boundary line in
the line of District Ko. 80; thence southeasterly with the boundary line
in the line of District No.30; thence southeasterly with the boundary line of
District No.80 to tipper Little River; thence down the river with the line
of District No.80 to the point a; ere the line of District No.80 leaves the
river in a southern direction into Barbecue Township; thence continuing
with the line of District No. 80 to Lpper Little River; thence with the river
to the Anderson Creek 'township line; thence with the line of Anderson Creek
A :ownship to the old plank road at, or near Spout Springs; thence crossing
the said road Lt Spout Springs and following. the western boundary line of
District No. 11 in Johnsonville Township to the Cumberland County line; thenc
with the Cumberland county line to the poke county line; thence with the
Eike County line to the iioore County line; thence with the Moore County
line and the Lee County line, if necessary, to the old plank road, the beginn
ing point.
That notice of the said election be published in the Harnett County
Pews, a weekly newspaper published in the Town of Lillin, ton, for thirty
days preceding the said election.

the words "For Local 'Tax" and those opposed shall vote a ticket upon which
shall be printed or written the words "Against Local Tax ".

RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, suffioient taxes have not been oolleoted to pay appropriations
made for the current fisoal year 1929, Harnett County, and a temporary loan
is mesentery to meet such appropriations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Harnett 'County, North Carolina, that said County borrow and be authorized to
borrow; on the faith and credit of said county, as provided in Seoiton 4 of
"The county Finance Sot ", the an of Sixty Thousand and no/100 ($60,000.00)
Dollars for the purpose of raising funds to meat the appropriation made for
ordinary expenses of said county, and the Chairman of this board be and.is
hereby authorized to execute a note or notes in the aforesaid sum dated the
30 dad*-of May 1929, payable to bearer, signed by the said (Nairman and
u.4esteu by tiue Clerk to the Board, payable on the "30tri.' daf Qc that J $92299, note
and bearing interest at the rate of six per Dent per annum,
or notes be negotiated and delivered by the said Chairman for the purposes afore said. ),
