The Harnett Oounty Board of Commissioners met in regular session with th
ollowing members present, John McLeod, Chairm. Stewart Turlington, Wm. Morgan,
nd W. G. baudermi1Z, also present were Jp 0. West Co. Atty and D. H. Senter Co.

The Board was called to order and the minutes read and approved,
rders.
It is ordered that the Board. of J. E. Dupree furnished by New Amsterdam
as. Co. be substituted and filed to take place of former bond.
It is ordered that Sheriff, J. H. Tart, make a survey of Harnett County
nd where Slot Machines are found give five days to remove and on second trip
onfiseate machines.
It is ordered that the witnes=ses in the States�;eas in court shall be
ro- rated,
It is ordered,the road board continua its work for the month of Feb.
It is ordered that W. S. Norden buy license to operate a pool table in
as t Erwin.
It is ordered that W. R. moor a buy license Go operate a pool table in
East Erwin.
It is ordered that the board accept cheek for 0 1923 taxes of Raynor
and parker on property in Stewart's Greek Township.
It is ordered by the board that 11. H, S.enter Go. mgr. be authorized to eo vey
the land purchased by the County by 1. R. Williams Comm. to the former land
owner upon the payment of all taxes and cost occuring and now due the County by
reason of suits upon which the judgments and sale of said land were conveyed to he
County. In the event the former owner does not see fit to exercise this option
the County Mgr. be instructed to take possession by legal process or otherwise
for the County.

CONTRACT OF COUNTY AT'TOaNEY:
It is ordered that the following terms of employment of county
Attorney, J. 0. ;est, in the collection of the delinquent taxes, he observed:
FIht'W: J. 0. nest shall receive ten per cent of the taxes collected;
that is for taxes for the year 1926, and prior thereto.
SEGUED: J. 0. West shall enter suit on all delinquent or unpaid
certificates of sale of land for taxes, when in the judgment of said J. 0. Wes
the County of Harnett, according to the records of Harnett County has a lien
on any real estate.
THIRD: For all suits started by J. 0. West, which suits the Board et shall
Commissioners do order that said suits be non - suited the said J. 0.
receive a fee of 420.00 or fee not to exeell amount of taxes, involved in
suit.
FOURTH: For suits started by J. 0. 4est, and on which suits collections
are made in full, the fee of J. U. West, in addition to the ten per cent
allowed above, shall be the fee named by the Qudge presiding.

TO THE HONORABLE BOARD Ot COUNTY UOMMISsIUNERS OF HARNE'TT COUNTY:
The petition of I. R. Williams, Tr>fstee under a deed of trust executed
by E. B. Cooper and wife, Clara Pope Cooper to I. R. Williams, Trustee, record
in Book 213 at page 128, respectfully shows:
That he foreclosed said deet of trust; that the valuation for said lot
during the year 1925 was $1200.00; that the said lot was listed in the name
of E. B. Cooper but was owned by his wife, Clara Pope Cooper; that said E. B.
Cooper was liable for a poll tax of 42.00; that said E. B. Cooper did list
4370.00 of personal property; that the tax on the real estate alone, with
costs and interest does amount to the sum of 426.94.
That this trustee has tendered to Hon. J. 0. West, County Attorney, his
check for the sum of 426.94, which check this trustee does pray that you
accept in full settlement for the taxes due on said lot for the year 1925.

Upon oonsideration of the foregoing petition it is ordered that the lot
described in the deed of trust referred to in the petition, which deed of true
was executed by E. B. Cooper and wife, Clara Pope Cooper be released upon the
payment of the s of 426.94 from further tgxation for the yyear :1925.
