An adjourned mooting of the Harnett County Commissioners. Members
present were, John McLeod, Chairm. Stewart 1rlington, W. C. Laudermilk,
also J. 0. West, Co. Atty and D. H. Senter Co. Manager.
The board was oalled to order by the Chairman.
It iS ordered teat theBoard hear bids for the $150,000.00 . C. Bonds
that were authorized to be sold in the meeting of Jan. 22, 1929. It was
agreed that the bonds be sold at auction, with the privilege of the board to
aooept or reject all bids.
The highest bid for the Harnett County Bonds was that of 0. H. Bray of
Bray Bros Co., of Greensboro, N. C. the bid being 5% with $1,000 premium.
In an Executive session It was moved by Stewart Turlington,Seconded by
*. C. Laudermilk that the Board aooept the bid of C. H. Bray of Bray Bros Co.
of Greensboro, N. C. Those voting for: John McLeod, Chairm. Stewart Turlington;
and W. C. Laudermilk, Those voting against: none.
It is moved by Stewart Turlington and seoonded by W. C. Laudermilk, that
the resolution drawn by Bray Bros., be accepted.

Dear Sirs:
Ne herewith submit you the following offer for your issue of bonds;
For 4'150,000.00 HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA? BONDS, properly and legally
issued, coupon form, denomination $1,000 each, dated at, 1929,
and maturing $5,000.00 Feby lat 1934 to 1953 inclusive, and 110,000.00
?atmuayy 1st, 1954 to 1958 Dnolusive. Without option of prior payment,
bearing interest at the rate of 5% per annum, payable semi - annually, both
prinoipal and interst payable at the CHASE NATIONAL BANK, In New York, N. Y.,
we will pay you PAR and interest, and furnish blank bonds an legal opinion
free of cost to the County, and a premium of $1,000.00.
Prior to the delivery of said bonds to us at the Greensboro Bank & Trust
Company, of Greensboro, N. C., you are to promptly furnish us with the complete
certified transcript and all other papers required by our attorneys for the
approval of said bonds, and upon which they will furnish us with their
unqualified approving legal opinion, stating that there is authority for the
levy and oolleotion of an unlimited tax for the payment of both principal
and interest of said bonds as same become due. Further, you are to perform
suoh other sots and things as in the opinion of our attorneys may be necess-
ary to perfect the legality of said bonds,
As a guarantee of the faithful, parformanoe of this bid, we attach hereto
our certified check for $3,000.00 which check is to be held by you and applied
as liquidated damages against our failure to comply with the terms of this
bod. Said oheok is to be promptly returned to us in case our attorneys
should refuse to approve said bonds, or for any other reason bonds are not
delivered.

RESOLVED: That the bid of Bray Brothers company, of Greensboro, N. C. being
the highest and best bid on the above described bonds, it is hereby accepted
and said bonds are hereby awarded to said Bray Brothers Company, and the proper
officials are authorized and directed to deliver said bonds to them, on oom-
plianoe by them with the terms of their bid.
The foregoing is a copy from the minutes of a meeting of the Board of
Commissioners of Harnett County, N. C., held January 29th, 1929, of whioh
meeting all the five members were duly notified, and at 'Which meeting three
members were present and voted in favor of said resolution.

It is ordered that the board accept the action of County Mgr. D. Ti.
Senter, at to the arrangements made to renew the note due January 25, 1929 at
The Chase National Bank, New York City.
The board adjourned until next regular meeting.

The Harnett Oounty Board of Commissioners met in regular session with th
ollowing members present, John McLeod, Chairm. Stewart Turlington, Wm. Morgan,
nd W. G. baudermi1Z, also present were Jp 0. West Co. Atty and D. H. Senter Co.

The Board was called to order and the minutes read and approved,
rders.
It is ordered that the Board. of J. E. Dupree furnished by New Amsterdam
as. Co. be substituted and filed to take place of former bond.
It is ordered that Sheriff, J. H. Tart, make a survey of Harnett County
nd where Slot Machines are found give five days to remove and on second trip
onfiseate machines.
It is ordered that the witnes=ses in the States�;eas in court shall be
ro- rated,
It is ordered,the road board continua its work for the month of Feb.
It is ordered that W. S. Norden buy license to operate a pool table in
as t Erwin.
It is ordered that W. R. moor a buy license Go operate a pool table in
East Erwin.
It is ordered that the board accept cheek for 0 1923 taxes of Raynor
and parker on property in Stewart's Greek Township.
It is ordered by the board that 11. H, S.enter Go. mgr. be authorized to eo vey
the land purchased by the County by 1. R. Williams Comm. to the former land
owner upon the payment of all taxes and cost occuring and now due the County by
reason of suits upon which the judgments and sale of said land were conveyed to he
County. In the event the former owner does not see fit to exercise this option
the County Mgr. be instructed to take possession by legal process or otherwise
for the County.
