NOVEMBER 5th, 1928.
County Commissioners met in regular session Nov. 5, 1928, with all members
present, with County Attorney, I.R. Williams.
Minutes of last meetings read and approved. ,
It is ordered that Mrs. Lewis, Supt. Public Welfare, investigate the
property of Miss Delphia Matthews, and,get her to convey her title to County,
then the County Commissioners are to convey title to Frank and Jack Matthews,
brothers of Miss Delphia Matthews, as they have paid to the County $15.00
per month for her upkeep at county home for ten months.
It is moved. by Z.V. Snipes and seconded by J.A. Hockaday that the depository
for Harnett County furnish the required bond anA that interest be collected
on' daily balance.
PAUPER ALLOWANCES:
It is ordered that W.R. Johnson of Averasboro township be allowed $5.00 per
month until further notice.
TAX BIT.IEFS • .
It is ordered that Gad B. Walker of Stewart!. Creek, township be relieved
of poll tax, on account of pbysioal oonditio$.
It is ordered that Marshall Hemmingway of Averasboro township be relieved
of poll tax on account of physical condition.
It is ordered that J.H. Ennis of Averasboro township be relieved of $34.13
school tax, said Ennis not being in special school district.
It is ordered that J.A. West of Anderson Creek township be relieved of taxes
on $300.00 valuation of property, on account of error in listing.
It is ordered that T.V. Riggsbee of Johnsonville township be relieved of taxes
oh $1000.00 valuation of note given J.L. Marks for land bought.
It is ordered that Mary C. Davis of Lillington township be relieved of taxes
on $1000.00 valuation, release for mama granted on Aug. 6, 1928.
It is ordered that James Cameron of U.L.R. township be. relieved of taxes on
$480.00 valuation, on account of error in value of waste land.
It is ordered that Mrs. W.R. Jones of Averasboro township be relieved of
taxes on $2570.00 valuation for 1927 and 1928 which is $94.06. It is also
ordered that Mrs. Jones pay 6% on 1927 taxes for the reason that Mrs. Jones
dill Molder the just amount of taxes last fall.
It is ordered that, L.W. Dean of Buokhorn township be reneged of taxes on
$507.50 valuation for 1927 and 1928, which amount is $18.90, on account of
error in listing property.
REPORTS:
It is ordered that report from C.S.C. be accepted and filed,<and that
checks for $286.15 and $441.25 be turned over to County Auditor.
It is ordered that report from Mrs. Lewis, Public Welfare,Offioer, be
accepted and filed.
It is ordered that report from T.R. Beown, Supt. Co. Home, be accepted and
filed, and bills attached to the amount of $739.62 be paid.
It is ordered thatreport from John Green, Tax Collector, be accepted and
filed.
If 'is ordered that report from S.B. eeriness, Supt. Convict Camp, be accepted
and filed, and that bills attached to the amount of t be paid.

It Is ordered that Mrs. Mamie Sexton Byrd, Register of Deeds, be relieved
of $238.00 due on Marriage License Tax on account of this sum Wag been
stolen in a robbery of the Register of Deeds office on or about Nov. 10, 1927.
It is ordered that the sheriff Jeep a book in which shall be recorded the name
of each prisoner admitted ,•theihour and date of imprisonment of each prisoner
and the date and hour of releas of each prisoner, and the sheriff and
auditor audit the account of 3a4lor filed with Board of Commissioners before
the said account shall be paid.,
