At the hour of twelve o'clock L. the Chairman announced to the Board that
the hour of sale of k35,000.00 County Home Bonds of Harnett County, north
Carolina, had arrived. Upon motion of 11r. Ingram the bids were ordered
opened, and it was found that bids had been received from the following
bonding houses, to -wit: A bid of bray brothers Company, of Greensboro,
North Carolina, and a bid of Stranahan, Farris & Oatis, of Toledo, Ohio.
Iao other bids were offered. The bid of Liessers. Stranahan, Harris & Oaties,
of Toledo, Ohio, was the loviest bid received, offering par and accrued
interest.
Lr. B.P. Ingram thereupon offered the following resolution which was
unanimously adopted:
"Whereas, - lessors. Stranahan, narris & Oatis, incorporated, of Toledo,
Ohio, are the ':ighest and best bidders for the x35,000.00 of County Home
Bonds of Harnett county, north Carolina, dated July 1st, 1928, bearing
interest at 4 3%4 per cent per annum, payable semi- annually, to mature as
specified in their bid bearing date of August 20th, 1928.
flow, therefore, be it resolved, that the said bonds be and the same are
hereby awarded go Messers. Stranahan, Harris & Oatis, Toledo, Ohio, and the
Chairman and Clerk of this Board are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said bonds, and whencxecuted, to deliver the same to the said
aiessers Stranahan, Harris & Oatis, of Toledo, Ohio, on compliance by them
with the terms of their bid on file in the office of the Clerk of the Board
of County Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina,"
Upon motion of,i,ir. Byrd, seconded by Lir. Hockaday, the above resolution
was unanimously adopted by the affirmative vote of the following members:
Jas. A. Buchanan, Chairman; B.P. Ingram, L.R. Byrd and J.A. Hockaday. Mr.
Z.V. Snipes was not present. No. member voted in the negative.
It is ordered that the Auditor of Harnett County issue voucher payable to
Stranahan, Harris & Oatis, Toledo, Ohio, in the sum of 4875.00 in payment of
proceedings contract in connection with issuance of 435,000.00 County Home
Bonds, and that the same be forwarded with the executed bonds to the said
Stranahan, Harris & Oatis, the purchasers of the same.

For 435,000.00) Thirty Five
thousand dollars Bonds of Harnett County N.C. issued for County Home Bldg.
being dated July 1, 1928, and bearing interest at the rate of 4-3/4% per
annum, payable semi - annually, on Jan. 1, and July 1, of each year, both
principal and interest being parable at Chase National Bank, N.Y. and
maturing in accordance with notice of sale.
We will pay L*ou (435,000.00) Thirty five thousand dollars and accrued
interest to date of delivery
Promptly and prior to the delivery of said bonds we are to be furnished
with a complete certified transcript of proceedings sufficient to evidence
the legality of the bonds to the full satisfaction of our attorneys,
Attached hereto is our certified check No. 7662 for 41000.00 as evidence
of our good faith in making this offer and as a guarantee that we will comp
with the terms thereof. This checl; is to be retained by you pending our
compliance with the terms of this bid if accepted, and to be returned on
demand if this bid is not accepted.

Commissioners of Harnett County with full authority to act in the absence of
Firs. Ramie Sexton Byrd, the Clel,k, and to attest any notes or bonds signed by
the chairman.. (Unanimously pas�ed.).
