Hoekadlay, 3.F. Snipes, B.F. Ingram Buchanan, chairman, being abslent. County Attorney, I.R. W also present. following and L.R. Byrd, lliams, was It is ordered that non suit be taken by the county in suit against Sallie McPherson et al upon the payment of the sum of 460.64 due on 1921 and 1922 taxes. HARNETT COUNTY. in tax suit s have been B.O. CORNELIUS, having been duly sworn, deposes and says, that in March, 1924, he obtained from D.P. McDonald, County Auditor of Harhett County, a paper writing in words and figures as follows: 1923 D.A. Shaw tax 461.12 not paid 1922 D.A. Shaw tax _ 54.39 Sold to County E.F. Young, Dunn, has certificate 1921 D.A. Shaw . Tax $336.26 Sold to County E.F. Young has certificate 1920 D.A. Shaw tax paid 1919 sold and redeemed. That in consequence of the above information this affiant did pay the following amounts by checks to the various persons set out below: J.[. MoArtan 461.12 E.F. Young 121.03 That this affiant has both of the said paid cheeks; that the one in payment of 1922 and 1921 taxes is made payable to the order of E,F. Young, dated April 9, 1924, for the sum of 4121.03, endorsed E.F. Young, deposited on cashed in First National Bank of Dunn on April 15, 1924, paid April 18, 1928, by Waehovia Bank & Trust Co. of Winston - Salem, N.C. on which bank the said check was drawn' by this affiant. That this affiant has been made a party to a suit for the 1922 taxes in a case entitled "County of Barnett vs D.A. Shaw and others. That in view of the fact this affiant has paid, all taxes due on said D.A. Shaw lands in Johnsonville township, Harnett) County, this affiant does pray that the County of Harnett do take a non -suit in the above mentioned case, and that this affiant be put to no further cost about this matter, as he has already been put to the expense of a trip from Winston -Salem in order to allow T.R. Willia� present County Attorney, to inppeet the cheeks and the paper writing, prepared by D.P. McDonald, County Auditor. B.O. Cornelius, Affiant. Whereas, the budget prepared by the Board of Education for 1927 -28 was the sum of 4248,906.92; And whereas the budget a prepared or the year 1928 -29 by the Board of Education is the sum of 4297,409.13; And whereas, the Board of County Commissioners are of the opinion that this budget as prepared by the Board of Education for the year 1928-29 can be reduced; Now, therefore, be it resolved that no action be taken by the Board of County Commissioners on said SChool Budget for 1928 -29 until the next regular meeting of said Board of County, Commissioners tombe held June 4, 1928.
