County commissioners met in regular session on June 6th, 1927, all members of the Board present with county attorney I.R. Williams. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. It is ordered that a Committee be appointed to secure an Auditor to'audit county books. It is ordered that rural policemen be retained for remainder of .year. It is ordered that the appointment, by the Board of Town Commissioners of the Town of Dunn, of R.G. Taylor as Recorder of the Recorder's Court of Dunn, be confirmed. Williams, County Attorney. It is ordered that Jas. A. Buchanan, B.P. Ingram and Z.V. Snipes be empowered to select and employ an Architect to draw plans for and to supervise the building of a County Hone. Motion J.A. Hockaday, seconded L.R. Byrd. All voting: Ayes. Whereas, the financing of the public roads and bridges in the county of Harnett, North Carolina, is under the supervision and control of the said Board of County Commissioners acting by and through the Highway Commission of Harnett County; And whereas, in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County North Carolina, It has become necessary to build, re -build and repair the public roads and bridges or public roads or bridges in Harnett County, and the same cannot be done with the labor and funds at the command of the Commissioners or in their hands; Now, Therefore, Be it resolved by the County Board of Commissioners of Harnet Counter, North Carolina, that the said Board be authorized to borrow on the faith and credit of said County, the sum of _live thousand dollars for the purpose o raising funds with which to defray the cost of re- building any roads and bridges either or both, and the Chairman of this Board be authorized to execute a note o notes dated June 27, 1927, payable to bearer, signed by the chairman of the board and attested by the clerk to the board, payable on the 27th day of Oct. 1927, and bearing such rate of interest not exceeding six per cent per annum, as the chairman may receive after having advertised said note for sale at public auction to the highest bidder, as required by law; and that said note be delivered and negotiated by the chairman of the County Board of Commissioners for the purposes aforesaid. In witness whereof the said County Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina, has caused its corporate name to be signed hereto by its Chairman and the corporate seal to be hereunto affixed and attested by its Clerk, this 6th day of June, 1927.
