ETING OF COONTY COMMISSIONERS."MAY 2ND. 1927.
County Commissioners met in regular session 'May 2nd, 1927.
All members of the Board present, with County Attorney, I. R. Williams.
Minutes of last meeting, read and approved.
It is ordered that the taxes on the two acres listed by
in Lversboro Township be released for the yeas 1922 and 1923
that said taxes were paid by the Board of ;arnett County to E
County Attorney, on January 19th,- 1925, on the same two acres
name of R. L. Godwin.

It is ordered that HarveyNorris of Grove Township be relieved of "1.00
dog tax.
It is ordered that Sherman Ockletree be :-ranted relief of y55.08 for
taxes paid twice for the :ears 1923, 1924, and 1925.
PAUPER ALLOWANCES
It is ordered that Joe Barnes be allowed 430.00 for Sanitorium Fund.
It is ordered that John William J'yrd be allowed 410.00 for five months
(Coats, N. C. R. 10
It is ordered that the note for 40 6,000.00 due by the Dunn School
District to the Board of Commissioners of Harnett Co. be marked paid upon
\the said Dunn School District conveying. all the real property belonging
to the said School district to the Board of Education of Hrnett County.
It is ordered that 0300.00 -be paid to the Eastern North Carolina
Ri2
Chamber of Commerce for man to opperate with Johnson and,Sampson
Counties, on conditions that the other counties pay like amount.
It is ordered that John Green, Tax Collector, advertize for sale all
lands on which taxes due for. the year 1926 have not been paid and the
same exposed for sale on the First Monday in June 1927.

Of Convict Camp for 0140.00 per month.

415,000.00 LOAN
WHEREAS, sufficient taxes have not been collected to pay appropriations
made for the current fiscal Year in larnett County, and a temporaty loan
is necessary to meet such appropriations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, that -said County borrow, and be author-
ized to borrow, on the faith and credit of said'County, -as provided: in
Section 4 of "THE COUNTY FINANCE ACT ", the sum of Fifteen Thousand -And
N0 /100 015,000.00 } _DOLLARS, for the purpose of raising funds to meet
the appropriations made for ordinary expenses of said County, and the
Chariman of this Board be and he is hereby authorized to execute a note
or notes in the aforementioned sum, dated May 12th, 1927, payable to
Bearer, signed by the saie Chairman, and attested by the Clerk to the
Board, payable on the 12th day of September, 1927, and bearing interest
not exceeding sic per cent, at the lowest rate that the Chariman shall
receive from a sale of said note or notes -at public auction, at the office
of the County Auditor, at Killington, N. C. at 12 o'clock noon, on May 12th
1927, said sale to be advertized as required by the "COUNTY FINANCE ACT ",
and that such note or notes be negotiated and delivered by the said `°hairman
for the purposes aforesaid".

In the matter of assuming all the debt service
obligations of the various school districtsmof
the county, including special charter districts
for buildings and equipment.
Whereas, certain school districts in Harnett County have issued
bonds or borrowed money from the County Board of Education, or both, for
the erection of school buildings and equipping the same, thus relieving
the Board of Education, in whole or in part, of providing suitable build-
ings and equipment for these districts for the six months school term, _
which districts and their present outstanding obligations are as follows:

And whereas, it is the sense of the Board of Education that all indebtedness
of school districts, including special charter districts, lawfully incurred in
erecting and equipping school buildings necessary for the six months school term
should be taken over for payment by the county as a whole and the local districts

NOB, THEREFORE, BE, IT RESOLVED:
First, That the County Board of Education with the approval of the County Board
of Commissioners,`take over the indebtedness of all school districts, inclnd
ing speeial charter districts, lawfully incurred, in erecting and equipping`_
school buildings, as set forth in the preamble to this resolution, and beginning
with the school year 1927 -1928, relieve the local districts of. their annual` payments
in accordance with Article 13, Section 179, of the Public School ?ex, Codification
1923, and Amendments thereto.
Second, That the Board of Gounty Commissioners oP Harnett Gounty be furnished
withsa certified copy of these resolutions; and that the said -Board of County
Commissioners be,. and it is hereby, asked to approve the action "on the part of the
County Board of Education as set forth. in these - resolutions.
third, That these resolutions be in full force and effeot from and after the
approval of the_ Board of County Commissioners.
