The Board Of County 00mraissioner of Harnett County, North Carolina,
met in regular session at the Cotirt House in the 'Term of Lillington, North'
Carolina, on the 6th day of SeDSismber, 1926, the following members being
present: Jas. A. Buchanan; Chairman, J, G. Layton, Bp P. Ingram, Z. V, Snipes
J. W. Hockaday, Mamie L. Sexton, Ex- Officio Clerk
Resolved that parsuant',to an Act entitled, "An Aot relating to
county notes in anticipation of the collection of certain school and other
taxes', retified December 19th, 1921, Notes of the County to the - aggregate
principal amount of Ten ousand,Bollars ($10,000.00) be issued in anticipatio
of the collection of taxes for the expenses of the Ct.nty for which the County
lawfully livied or will levy taxes/ The amount of the said notes, together
with any other notes issued for the same purpose during the fiscal yeat, will
not exceed 75 per cent of the amount of the tax&a livded for the said purpose
for the preceeding fiscal year,
The said notes shall be dated September 7th, 1926,, and shall be
payable December 7ty, 1926, shah, bear interest at the rate of Rive Per Cent
($) per annum, payabbe at the maturity of said notes, shall be in the denomin
tion of $5.00 each, shall be numbered one and two (1 and 2), and both prinoipa
and interest shall be payble at the CHASE NATIONAL BANK, in the City and State
of New York.
Said notes ahgll be s gned by the !` irmen and Clerk respectively
of the Board of County Commissio era, and she:tit be issued in substantially the

and the Chairman and Secretary of this Board are hereby authorised, empowered
and directed for and on behalf of this Board to hoin with the County Board
of Bducatlon of Harnett County in making the necessary application therefor,
and to take such action under this resolution and under said statutes, pales
and regulations as may be necessary for said purpose."
The resolution was duly adopted by the following vote: Those votin in
the affirmative were Messrs: Baokhanan, Hockaday, Ingram, Layton and Snipes.

Whereupon the Chairman announced that the said resolution was duly and
properly adopted

TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY, N. C.
We, the undersigned Registrar and Judges of Election for Special Tax
District, being Neill's Creek District, No. 74, Harnett County, North
Carolina, having held the election in said Special Tax District according
to the provisions of Pablic School Laws of 1923, Ahapter 136, on the 17 day of
August, 1926, do make and certify to be correct the following atatment:
Number voters Registered, Three Hundred Thirty Nine (339)
Number votes cast for Special Tax, One Hundred Seventy Five(175)
Number votes oast against Special Tax, Seventy Three (73)

NOTE IN ANTICIPATION OF TAXES

The County of Harnett , in the State of North Carolina, for value received
hereby promises to pay to BEARER the sum of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS on the 7th
day of December, 19260 With interest at the rate of FIVE PER CENT PER ANNUM,
payble at the maturity of this note, both principal and interest being payable
at the CHASE NATIONAL BANK, in the City and State of New York,
This note is issued by virtue and in prusuance of an Act entitled, *en
Act relating to county notes in anticipatdon of the collection of certain
school and other taxes ", ratified December 19th, 1921, and Of a resolution
duly adopted by the Board of County Commissioner:,
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said County of Harnett has caused this note to be
signed by the Chairman and Clerk respectively of its Board of County Commiae-
loners, and dates as of the 7th day of September, 1926.
BE IT FURTHER BESOLVED that the sale of said notes to Bray Brothers
Company, of Greensboro, N. C., is hereby confirmed, the purchase price being
not less than par and accrued interest, and that the ,Ohairman and Clerk of
this Board are hereby authorized and directed to execute said notes, and the
County Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed when they are so executed
to deliver the same to said Bray Brothers Company, on compliance by them
with the terms of their bid
On motion of Zr. Z. V, Snipes, seconded by Mr. J. G. Layton,
the foregoing resolution was adopted by the following roll-call vote, to -wit:

RESOLUTION ADOPTED
At a meeting of the, Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County,
held at Lillington on the 6th day of September, 1926, the .following members
were present, the same being a quorum of said Board: Messrs. Buokhanaa,
Ghaimman, Hockaday, Ingram, Layton, and Snipes,
The following resolution was offered by Mr. Snipes and seconded by
Mr. Ingram.
'Resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County ".
(1) That for properly maintaining a six months' school term in Districts
121. 145, 152, 165, 154, 1$2, 177,: 186, County of Harnett as required by
Article 11, section 3, of the Constitution of the State of North Carolina, it
is necessary that certain improvements be made therein of the following character:
