Minutes of last meeting read and approved.
APPOINTMENT OP NEW COMMISSIONER:
Whereas, there has been created in your Board a vacancy by reasnn of the
resignation of Geo. K, Grantham, Esq., from your body;
And whereas, Under the law the Clerk of the Superior Court is empowered
to fill vacancies in the Board of County Commissioners;
Now, Therefore, I, L.M. Chaffin, Clerk of the Superior Court of Harnett
County, by power in me invested do hereby appoint as a member of your body
to fill out the unexpired term of Geo, K. Grantham, Esq., Mr. N.V. Snipes,
a citizen and resident of Averasboro Township. Harnett County.
This the lst day of March, 1926.

It is ordered that the chairman of the Board of Commissioners and Chairman
of the Road Commissioners investigate bridge on Old Stage Road South of Mr.
John IMaarten's.
It is ordered that $10.00 be allowed Henry D. McNeill for one month on
account ofrphysieal condition, and that further investigation be made by
Miss Beck, and report to Board.
It is ordered that County Auditor issue voucher to Treasurer of Upper Little
River Township Road Commission for $243.43 due said Commission for distri-
bution in settlement with Ex- Sheriff MoArtan.
It is ordered that D.P. Graham of Barbecue Township be relieved of poll tax
on account of loss of finger.
It is ordered that the resignation of C.E. Wood, Registrar of Vital Statistic
be accepted, and that Jas. A. Shaw is appointed Registrar for Anderson Creek
Township.
It is ordered that the resignation of Jes. A, Buchanan as member of Special
Committee -of County Home be accepted, and that Z.V. Snipes be appointed
instead.
REPORTS
It is ordered that report from S.B. Caviness, Supt. Convict Camp, be accepted
and filed, and that all bills attached thereto be paid to the amount of
$747.24,
It is ordered that report from J.P. Bradley, County Auditor, be accepted and
filed, showing amount of taxes collected from Jan, 1, to Feb. 27, 1926,
*1,693.33.
It is ordered that report from H.A. Purling, Tax Collector, be accepted and
filed. Commission on same $735.12 to be paid- advancement of salary.
It' is ordered that report from Clerk of Court be accepted and filed, and
that checks attached thereto for $125.00 and $90.35 be turned over to County
Auditor.
It is ordered that teport from J.P. Parker, Supt. of County Home be accepted
and filed, and that all bills thereto attached to the amount of 4149.04 be
paid.
It is ordered that Meta Snead be allowed $1.00 per day for keeping Frank
Mcleod, pauper.

It is ordered that Report of Mr. Cole Savage, County Agent, be accepted
and filed.
RELEASES:
It is ordered that J.D. Stephenson be relieved of $2.00 dog tax in Neill's
Creek township.
It is ordered that W.B. Hobson be relieved of $1.00 dog tax in Averasboro
township.
It is ordered that J.H. Holmes, Sr. be relieved of $44.82 in Grove township.

It is ordered that J.W. Jones be relieved of $10.50 in Averasboro township,
property whould be listed by H.C. Turlington.
It is ordered that Morris Fleishman be relieved of $43.75 in Averasboro town-
