HARNETT COUNTY.
TO THE HONORABLE BOARDS OF EDUCATION AND COUNTY COLIMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY
We, the undersigned qualified voters of Harnett County School District
No.33, who have resided in said district for a period of twelve months or more,
respectfully petition your Honorable Board to call an election in said district
for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters thereof the question of
voting a special tax in said district Bf fifty (50) cents on the one hundred
dollars of property valuation in said district for the purpose of supplementing
the funds for the six months public school term for said district.
The boundaries of said district No.33 in which we request the election
are as follows: Beginning at a stake on the bank of Neill's Creek at a point
where the southern boundary line of the Angier High School District (Now Harnett
County School District _10.34) crosses said creek, and runs thence in an easterly
direction along said southern boundary line of district No.33 to Buie's Creek;
thence in a southerly direction with the run of i3uie's Creek to the northern
boundary line of Harnett County School District No.73; thence in a westerly
direction with said northern boundary line of district No.73 to the run of
Neill's Creek; thence up the run of said Neill's Creek to the beginning.

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
HARNETT COUNTY CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION IN HARNETT
COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO.33.
WHEREAS, There has been presented to this board at its regular
meeting on the First LMonday in November, 1925, it being the 2nd day of
November, 1925, signed by more than one -third of the qualified voters of
Harnett County School District No.33, who have resided in said district
for a period of twelve months or more, petitioning this board to call an
election in said district for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
voters thereof the question` of levying a special tax in said district of
fifty cents on the one hundred dollars of property valuation to- supplemenzt
the funds for the six months school term for said district; and.,
WHEREAS, said petition has been duly presented to the Board of
Education of Harnett County, received due consideration and approval by
that body and is now before 'this Board upon the approval of said Board of
Education and the endorsement of the Chairman and Secretary of said board:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COI.II;ZISSIOI
OF HARNETT COUNTY IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED ON IONDAY NOVEMBER 2ND,
1925:
1. That an election be held in said Harnett County School
District No.33'on Tuesday December 15th, 1925, for the purpose of submitti
to the qualified voters of said district the question of levying a special
tax in said district of fifty cents on the one hundred dollars of property
valuation for the purpose of supplementing the funds for the six months
school term of said district, the boundaries of said district in which this
election is palled being as follows;. viz
Beginning at a stake in the run of Neill's Creek at a point where
the southern boundary line of the Angier High School District (now Harnett
County School District'No.34) crosses said creek, and running thence in an
easterly direction with said southern boundary line to Buie's Creek, thence
in a southerly direction with the run of said Buie's Creek to the northern
boundary line of Harnett County School District No.73 thence in a westerly
direction with said dstrict.No.73 northern boundary line to -the run of
Neill's Creek; thence -up the run of said creek to the beginning.
2. That there be a new registration of the voters in said
district, and that notice of said registration be published in some newspap
having a circulation -in said district at least thirty days prior to the
close of the registration books.
3. That notice of said election be published in some newspaper
circulating in said district for a period of thirty days prior to said
election.
4. That Nathan Matthews, Angier, N.C. R.F.D. #2 -, be and he is
hereby appointed Registrar for said election, and Will Campbell, Vagina,
N.C. R.F.D. #2, and W.A. Johnson, Varina, N.C. R.30330 11* are hereby
appointed as Poll Holders for said election.
5. That all those desiring to vote for the special tax shall
vote a ticket upon which shall be printed or written the words "FOR LOCAL
TAX" and those opposing shall vote a ticket upon which shall be printed
or written the words "AGAINST LOCAL TAX ".
6. That the election shall be held at the home of Nathan
Matthews in-said district.

BRIDGE FUND:
It is ordered that the Auditor place $1000.00 to the. credit` of Road
Commissioners of Harnett County for bridge fund, and that said amount be
charged to Bridge Fund and be expended at the order of the Road Com-
missioners.
LISTING OF UNLISTED PROPERTY-
It is ordered that County .Auditor list for taxes for the years 1920,1921,
1922, 1923, 1924, such property that lies within Lillington School District
and through error was not listed for said years, and that there be-
assessed against each property owner such amount of taxes as the property
is valued at, on the basis of 40 cents per hundred for 1920, sixty cents
for 1922, 70 cents for 1923, and 70 cents for 1924.

HuREAS, there has been presented to this Board at its regular
meeting on the First Monday in November, 1925, it being the 2nd day of
November, 1925, signed by more than twent- -five qualified voters of the
district embraced within the following boundaries hereinafter described,
petitioning for an election in said district for the purpose of submitting
to the -ivalified voters thereof the question of levying a special tax in
said territory of fifty cents on the one hundred dollars of property
valuation to supplement the funds for the six months schools term of said
district; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been duly presented to the 3oard of
Education of Harnett County, and after due consideration, approval and
endorsement by that body is now before this board as by law provided:

Barbecue School District No.32 crosses this district; thence in a northerly
direction along the line of District No. 32 to the Lee County line; thence
with the Lee County line to Cape Fear River; thence down the river to the
beginning.
2. That there be a new registration of the voters in said district
and that notice of said registration be published in some newspaper having a
circulation in said territory at least 30 days prior to the close of the
registration books.
3. That notice of said election be published in some newspaper
circulating in said district for a period of 30 days prior to said election.
4. That B.B. Holder, Broadway, N.C. R.F.D. #2, be and he is hereby
appointed Registrar for said election, and M.J.A. Patterson and Alton Buchanan
of Broadway, N.C. R.P.D. be and they are hereby appointed Poll Holders for
said election.
5. That the election shall be held at Arlington, in said District.
6. That all those favoring the election and the levying of said
tax shall vote a ticket upon which shall be printed or written the words
"FOE LOCAL TAX" and those opposing shall vote a ticket upon which shall be
printed or written the words "AGAINST LOCAL TAX ".

We, the undersigned qualified voters of the School Districts embraced
within the boundaries set out below, having resided within said districts for
a period of twelve months or longer, respectfully request that an election
be called in said districts for the purpose of voting a Special Tax in said
consolidated district not to exceed fifty cents on the one hundred dollars of
property valuation, to supplement the funds for the six months public school
term for said districts as consolidated, for the purpose of said tax to be for
establishing and maintaining a consolidated High School and Elementary School
to serve the respective School Districts as consolidated, and to pay each
districts part of the cost of same, said School to be located on the most
practical site on State Highway Route No.60, at Atlington; the boundaries of
said district are to be as follows:
Beginning at the mouth of Fish Creek on Cape Pear River and following
up said creek as it meanders to the mouth of Natery Branch; thence South

across State Highway Route No.60 to the northwest corner of the Moss Farms;
thence with their western boundary toward the hcDougald road, crossing said
Road to the western boundary of School District No. 88, known as Hickory '
Grove; thence along said line of District No. 88 to the western boundary of
School District No. 89, known as Round To School District; thence along thi
line to Upper Little River; thence up said river to the point where Barbecue
School District #32 crosses this district; thence in a northerly direction
along the line of district No.- 32 to the Lee County line; thence north along

$25,000.00 dated November 2, .1925, maturing January 2, 1926, and bearing
interest s% from Nov. 4, 1926, interest payable at maturity. Both interest
and principal payable to BEARER at Chase National Bank of the City of New York,
New York, in anticipation of taxes for year 1925, and that said note be sold
or hypothecated by the Auditor of Harnett County and the proceeds thereof
turned into the general fund of said Oounty.
Be it further resolved: That the full faith and credit of
County of Harnett be pledged tp the punctual payment of the principal and
interest of said note at maturity.

thereof turned into the general fund of said County.

MINUTES OF MEETING OF COLEISSIONERS NOV. 9, 1925,
at 2 o'clock P.M.
The Board of County Commissioners met in called session and the following
were present: GK. Grantham, Chairman; J.A. Hockaday, J.A. Buchanan, B.P.
Ingram, and M.T. Spears, County Attorney,
It was ordered that the Board -of Education purchase an additional -truck for
Anderson's Creek Consolidated School, and that this board would provide the
funds needed after deducting the price received from sale of Murchison
School house and the amount saving by abolishing a teacher for Murchison
School.
RESOLUTION TO EXECUTE NOTE:
"BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OFD `Commissioners" That one (1) note of County
of Harnett be executed in the sum of $40,000.00 dated November 12, 1925,'i

at Bank of Lillington, Lillington, N.C. - anticipation of collection of
taxes, and that said note be sold or hypothecated by the Auditor of Harnett
County and the proceeds thereof turned into the general fund of said County.

be pledged to the punctual payment of the principal and interest of said note
at maturity.
