MINUTES OF MEETING OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APRIL 6, 1925.
County Commissioners met in regular session April 6, 1925, at 10
o'clock A.M. All members of the Board being present: G.X. Grantham,
Chairman, B.P. Ingram, J.G. Layton, J.A. Hockaday, Jas. A. Buchanan, M.T.
Spears, Attorney, present with Board.
Minutes of last meeting read and approved.
It is ordered that report from E.F,.1'oung be accepted and filed, and that
the check attached to said report for $799.21 be turned over to the County
Auditor.
It is ordered that report from Road Commission of Upper Little River Town-
ship be accepted and filed.
It is ordered that report from H.A. Turlington, Tax Collector, be accepted
and filed. Total Amount collected - $358,670.81. Commission on amount
collected $492.24.
It is ordered that report from Convict Camp be accepted and filed, and
all bills attached paid.
It is ordered that reports from C.S.C. be accepted and filed; that check
attached be turned over to County Auditor,
It is ordered that bill from J.W. Turnage for bridge work be turned over
to M.T. Spears for investigation, and report to Board at next meeting.
It is ordered that the owner of the county truck must be registered and
reported to Secretary of State.
It is ordered that the list takers make a more accurate report on the farm
census, so that the county may have its proper place in agricultural rating
in the State.
It is ordered that a committee be appointed to make investigations as to
the cost of putting water in Home Demonstrator's office.
H.S. Holloway tendered his resignation as member of the Road Commission in
Hector's Creek Township. This is deferred until first Monday in May.
RELEASES,
It is ordered that the following releases be given:
T.J. Baker $25.15 for property listed twice in Neill's Creek Township.
H.F. Johnson and Draughon $128.39 on property owned and listed by Pa.
Massengill and Z.V. Snipes in Averasboro Township.
Gus McNeill be refunded t15.53 for drainage tax in Stewart's Creek District
for year 1920, which was collected by J.W. McArtan and not turned in.
Elenor Pearsall $7.90 on property listed and paid by Sam Broughton in
Averasboro Township.
T.H. Boykin $5.32 for property listed and paid by Z.C.'Bissett.
E.T. Lockamy to be relieved of $34.76 on property listed and paid by
C.H. Jernigan in Averasboro Township.
Harnett County Trust Company be relieved of X13.77- on property listed and
paid by C.W. Campbell in Anderson Creek township.
That Lizzie Elliott, colored, be relieved of $8.26 on property listed and
paid by Neill Elliott.
That D.P. Harris be relieved of $64.19, This property was listed regular
in Barbecue Township. After listed also for $54.46 which was paid Dec,
23, 1924.
Trinity Land Company to be relieved of $56.09 which is listed and paid by
Erwin Cotton Mills Company in Grove Township; Lillington Township $14.00;
Stewart's Creek Township 5.15; Upper Little River $33.87.
Mrs. Lillie Benson to be relieved of $19.20, on property listed and paid
by W.D. Boon, Benson, N.C. in Averasboro Township.
Spence & Adcock to be relieved of $79,00- same property listed and paid by
Spence & Cozart in Buckhorn.
A.A. Brafford be relieved of $7.40 on property listed in Barbecue, which
property is listed and paid by Geo. W. Dowdy,'

C.A. Norris be relieved of $6.90 for property listed in 1924, 4 -9/10 acres
listed and paid by Mrs. Seth A. Coats in Averasboro.
Myrtle Lee to be relieved of $4.74 for property listed and paid by Edward
Smith and F.W. McKay in Averasboro.
Mrs. Lula Lucas to be relieved of $15.30 in Grove Township listed by Mrs.
A.W. Hodges and paid.
I.Z. McNeill & Co. be relieved of $5.92 error in listing property in Barbecue
Township. 24 acres listed more than he. owns.
R.L. Godwin to be relieved of $354.56. This property was owned at the time
of listing by Angier Bank & Trust Company and others.
E.M. Henley to be relieved of $7.14 for property listed by Johnie Suggs in
Grove Township.
John D. McLean, colored, be relieved of $3.20 in Grove township. He lives
in Neill's Creek township and pays poll tax there.
E.M. Jeffreys be relieved of $152.38.
