HomeMy WebLinkAbout07061936385 July 6, 1936 The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, July 6th. 1936 with the following members present: J.B.Znnis, Chairman; Geo.T.Hoel, J.S.Barker, Angus A.Cameron and E.L.Cooke. It is ordered that Geo.T.Noel, E.L.Cooke and J.S.M clean, Auditor, be appointed a Committee to investigate the valuation of the property of Mrs. J.G.Goddard in Averasboro Township. It is ordered that beer license be granted to Wallace Green, in Barbecue Township. . It is ordered that the valuation of the property of Misses Rachel and Louise Clifford in Averasboro Township be reduced from um. to $3500. for 1935 and 1936. It is ordered that the valuation of the old T.L.Gerald house in Averasboro Township, recently purchased by Jno.M.aee, be reduced to $ 3,000. It is ordered that an appropriation of $850.00 be made for fire proteotion in Harnett County. It is ordered that 1.A.Cameron and J.S.MoLean, Auditor, be appointed a committee to investigate the re- valuation of the Blaok land in Johnsonville Township, the timber having reoently been sold. It is ordered that the County appropriate $38.86 to buy a loon for the W.P.A. sewing room. It is ordered that the report of W.D.Harrington, Tax Collector, of Schedule B taxes,cbnaecepted and filed. It is ordered that the report of w.D.Harrington, Tax Collector, be accepted and filed. It is ordered that the report of Mrs. Inez Harrington,• Register of Deeds, be accepted and filed. It is ordered that petitions for the following described roads be approved and forwarded to the State Highway and Public Works Commission: (a) road from Piney Grove Church in Wake County to Highway No. 21 near Rawls Church in Harnett County; (b) road beginning at C.C.C.camp near Lillington to Fort Bragg road covering about one mile; (c) road beginning at L.D.Brock's estate in Stewarts Creek Twp. 5 miles west of Bunnlevel running to Manchester Highway, intersecting Highway No. 210 near Harmony Baptist Church, covering 2 miles; (d) road beginning on State Highway No. 210 2 miles east from Angier to road intersecting county road at Lloyd Holland's filling station, covering 3 miles. It is ordered that resolution of Board of Education concerning the borrowing of $20,000.00 to finance the additions to Erwin School, be adopted. A committed of R.S.Ielly, J.C.Byrd and Z.S.MeLean was appointed to investigate. It is ordered that Chairman J.B.Znnis be authorized to sign resolution transferring a part of Literary Fund loan of $20,000.00 from Coats School to Benhaven and Erwin Schools. It is ordered that J.O.Anthony be approved as County Agent. It is ordered that W.D.Reynolds be approved as Assistant County Agent. It is ordered that the Board adjourn until Monday, July 20th. when it will sit as a Board of Equalization and Review. It is ordered that the valuation of the house, located on Lots Nos. 15, 16,17,18 and 35 in the town of Angier, N.C. as recorded in Plat Boot 3, page 100, Registry of Harnett County, listed in the name -et Lna- R,rit- Barbour,'be planed at $750.00 for the years 1934, 1935 and 1936. It is further,ordered that the Auditor after list the house for 1934 and 143b- 4,49.56.-OA-nntb.pbh the payment of $21.16 plus $1.27 penalty, the Tax Collector issue receipt for same and that the house and lots be released from further taxation for the year 1935 and all prior years.
