April 6, 1936.
The Board of Commissioners met in regular session with all members present.
County Attorney, I.R.Williams, was also present.
It is ordered that Milton Sikes be granted free peddlers license on account
of blindness.
The following applications td operate pool rooms in Harnett County were filed:
G.W.Conard, South Erwin, N.C.; R.B.Johnson, Fuquay Springs, N.C. RFD
The resolution passed January 6, 1936 granting L.F.West permission to buy
beer license at Erwin is revoked. Mr. West now being confined to State
Hospital, Raleigh, N.B.
It is ordered that the report of the Tax Collector be accepted and filed.
It is ordered that an allowance of $20.00 be allowed C.H.Bailey, (col.) for
the burial expense of Anson Bailey, Confederate Pensioner.
It is ordered that petition of B.B.Hodges, Erwin, N.C. for peddlers license
be referred to I.R.Williams, Co nty Attorney, for investigation.
It is ordered that space for Seed Loan Office be retained for the present or
until applications for seed loans have been finished, at a cost not to exceed
$4.50 per month.

The Board of Education met with the Board of Commissioners and proposed the
erection of six additional class rooms and one study hall at Erwin, N.C.
The request of Mr. D.A.McLeod, of Angier, N.C. was referred to Miss Lillie Davis
Supt. of Welfare.
The request of Mrs. Oma Holder for help on account of disabled husband was
referred to Hiss Lillie Davis, Supt. of Welfare.
It is ordered that the valuation of household and kitchen property of R.M.Dow$,,
of Dunn, N.C. for 1935 be corrected to read $500.00 instead of $1500.00. It
is ordered that R.M.Dowd, bf Dunn, N.C., be released of poll tax for the
year 1935 & 1936.
It is ordered that a copy of the following be forwarded to the State Highway
and Public Works Commission:
" To the State Highway and'Public Works Commission:
Under authority contained in Section 3858 (b) C.S.C. do respectfully request
that you lend such assistance as possible in rendering that road leading from
Gum Ford Church in Northern direction to Benson - Angier Road, Grove Township,
Harnett County ,into a passable condition. This road is a R.F.D. Route and
will likely be a Public Sohool Route."
It is ordered that the report of Register of Deeds be accepted and filed.
It is ordered that Geo.T.Noel, I.R.Williams, and J.S.McLean, be appointed a
Committe to investigate valuation of N,W.Barnes property in Averasboro Twp.
The petition of Mrs. M.M.Driver, Dunn, N.C.,with reference to refund of
taxes on a certain 3 acres of land in Averasboro Township, was considered.
A Committee of Geo. T.Noel, I.R.Williams, and J.S.McLean, was appointed to
investigate.

RESOLUTION:
Upon motion duly made and carried, be it resolved, that the double Brick Store
Building and lot on Front Street, formerly occupied by Atkins Bros. and now
occupied by A.H.Phelps, in Town of Lillington, be released.and,discharged of
all Harnett County Taxes for the years 1926 to 1935, inclusive, and all prior
years upon the payment of the sum of $616.13, being the respective following
amount for the respective years, to -wit: 1926. 122.72; 1927 $132.01;
1928 $138.27; 1930 $107.35; $1931 $61.95; 1935 $53.83.
Be it further resolved, that upon the payment of the said $616.13, that the
County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to make, execute
and deliver to Neill McK.Salmon proper receipts in full payment and settlement
of all county taxes on and against the said above described property for the
year 1935 and all prior years; and further the County Attorney is hereby
authorized and directed to dismiss all County of Harnett Suits against said
property at the cost of the County of Harnett.
