At a duly constituted meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County, duly adjourned from the First Monday in January, 1936 to be held to -day, January 16th. 1936 all members present. Also the County Attorney. It is ordered that the Tax Collector be instructed to indict all solicitors of dry cleaning and pressing who have not paid their taxes as required by law. RESOLUTION: AT a meeting of the Board of Education of Harnett County held at Lillington N.C. on the sixteenth day of January, 1936 the following members of the Board were present; the same being a quorum of said Board. Messers H.:7. Prince, Chairman, J.A. Hockaday and J.C. Byrd. The following_ resolution was offered by Yr. J.A.Hockaday and seconded by Mr. J.C. Byrd. WHEREAS, application was made by this Board to the Public Works Administration for a loan and grant for the purpose of constructing school improvements in Harnett County, N.C. (application bearing Becket No. NC 1057 -R) 1. Benhaven School Building (11 class rooms, 2 shop rooms and auditorium) 2. Coats School Building (14 class rooms and auditorium) S? iEREAS, financing of the project was to have been as follows: Grant ;66,272. Loan 81,000. 3147.272. and found that the project could be con- WHEREAS, after receiving bids, it is structed substantially as contemplated, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Education of Harnett County; (1) That the following estimate of project cost based upon contracts awarded accepted in lieu of that an-roved on the basis of the original application: 3100.00 xxx 136485.00 6825.00 400.00 be (a) Preliminary expense (b) Land and right of way (c) Construction (d) Architectural expense (e) Legal and administrative (Bal. by County officials) Interest during construction Miscellaneous (f) (g) (2) That method of financing the project Grant Loan 1600.00 44.00 145454.00 cost be declared as follows: 65454.00 80000.00 145454.00 (3) That the County Commissioners concur and by the adoption of this resolution do pledge the funds necessary as shown under (t) above. The foregoing resolut ion was duly adopted by the following vote: Those voting in the affirmative were: H.I7. Prince, J.C. Byrd and J.A. Hockaday. Those voting in the negative were: I ?one. Thereupon the Chairman announced that the said resolution was duly and properly adopted. RESOLUTION: Commissioner Noel offered the following resolution: WHEREAS, at a duly constituted meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, duly adjourned from the First Monday in January, 1936 to be held to -day. January 18th. 1936, it appeared that the Board of Education of Harnett County have this day adopted the following resolution, to -wit: (See next preceeding above) NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County concur in said resolutions and in all respects ratify and affirm the same. The foregoing resolution was duly adopted. Those voting in the affirmative: Ennis, Cooke, Barker, Noel and Cameron Those voting in the negative: None The reports of the audit by H.C. Northrop and Co. of the office of Clerk of the Superior Court and other County offices were approved upon recommendation of the Auditors, H.C. Northrop and Company, it is ordered that the following sums be charged off the books::$50.00 petty cash charged to Auditor's office, when in fact the said sum of 350.00 was never received by the Auditor's office but is shown by cancelled checks of theformer Auditor, J.E. Dupree. 51000.00 charged to Jury & nd as the same does not exist in the form of cancelled jury tickets. It is ordered that the sum of 350.00 be appropriated to the office of the Superintendent of Welfare for use by Mlss Davis in her discretion for Emergency Relief. It is ordered that the following Committee be appointed to investigate and improve the system of keep records in various offices of the County: J.B. Ennis, Chrm. L.M. Chaffin, I.R. Williams and J.S. McLean. 356 It is ordered that the Clerk to this Board be instructed to write Z.Bayard Clark, Member of Congress, regarding the proposed Amendment of Congressman Wilcox of Florida regarding the Bantruptcy Act.
