The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the follow-
ing members present: JB. innis, Chairmen,: E.L.Cooke, Goo. 7. Noel, J.B. Barker
and A.A. Cameros. I.R.Williems, County Attorney, also present.
It is ordered that $18.00 per month be appropriated for the hire of an
Assistant Case Worker in Nerasboro and Duke Townships.
It is ordered that a iommittee composed of Geo. B. noel and S.L. 0ooke
and I.R.Willieme investigate the valuation of the property of pr. H.C.Turlington
in Dunn, H.C. Lee's lot oa *ivine Street; and property of Eagle Furniture !ompany
with power to make adjustments. It is further ordered that this Committee in-
vestigate the valuation of the property of lire. John Monde in Dunn.

It is ordered that W.D. Harrington be appointed Tax Oolleetor for the
Collection of the 1935411. taxes of Harnett County.
It is ordered that petition for road in Aerasboro Township from J.L.
8orrell's plane to G.O. Truelove's place be approved and forwarded to the
Highway and Public Works Cc misaiou.
It is ordered Oat petition for road in Aerasboro Township leading from
Aerasboro- Smithfield road to Primitive Baptist Church be approved and forwarded
to State Highway and Publio Works Oomaission.
It is ordered that report of Dr. S.W. Peede, County Health Officer, be
accepted and filed.
Resolved that the runty of Harnett convey to J.L. Hatcher the Cornelia
Williams lot in *San on . Divine Street for the sum of $ and the Chairman
and Clerk authors ed to execute deed for same after an leers— siigation to be made
by Measers Noel, Gooke and Williams, Committee.
It is ordered that Commissioner Cameron and Auditor McLean investigate
the valuation of the real estate of C.H. Dula and Asa L. Smell.
It is ordered that report of G.L. Connally, Tax oolleetor, be accepted

ty Auditor is hereby whetted to list 88 sores of land in Upper
Little Diver Township for the years 1930 through 1934 at a valuation of $1012.00
to J.A. Davis. He is also directed and ordered to accept the sum of $85.61 plus
0 penalty from February 1, 1935 in full payment of all bask taxes on the above
property. He is also ordered to place a valuation of $1018.00 on the above
property for 1935.

APPLICATION RESOLUTION:
Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners for the 4ounty of Harnett:
Section 1: That for properly maintaining a six months school term in the
various districts of Harnett runty, as required by Article IX, Section 3, of the
Constitution of the State of runty,
Carolina, it is necessary that tkn iatat certain
improvements be made therein of the following character: Construction of school
buildings, additions to existing 411414&age school buildings, and sewage disposal
plantsfor school buildings.
Section 2. That in order to provide said improvements, it is estimated that
the sum of $258,892.89 is necessary, the same to be used by the Board of Education
of Harnett County for said purpose.
SECTION 3, That the Board of 0ommissioners for the •ounty of Harnett does
hereby approve of, and authorize B.P. Gentry, Secretary to the Barnett County, N.C`"
Board of Education, "to execute and file an application on behalf of the Board of
Education of Harnett eounty,N.O. to the United States of America through the Federal
Bmergenoy Administration of Public Works for a loan and grant i,n the the cum 9
3258,892.89 to aid in financing the construction of School Buildinga, Additions to
existing s eitool buildings and.wwwage disposal plants for school buildings• .
SECTION 4. That J.B. Ennis, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the
County Of Barnett, be and he is hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of
said Board of Commissioners to join with the Board of Education of Harnett County
in making application on behalf of said Board of Education of Harnett County to the
United States of AMerica, through the Federal Anergency Administration of Public
Works for said loan and grant for said purpose.
SECTION 5. That B.P. Gentry, Secretary to the Harnett County, N.C. Board of
Education, is hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information as the
United States of America through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public
Works may reasonably request in connection with the application which is herein
authorized to beffiled.

APPLICATION FOR LOAN AND GRANT.
The Board of Commissioners for the County of Harnett hereby joins with the
Board of Sduoation of Harnett fount,' (herein Balled the " Applicant") in making
application to the United States of Sarin through the Federal IIdergeney Ldministre
Lion of Public forks (herein Balled the "Government ") for a loan and Brent for the
purpose of aiding in financing the construction of school buildings, additions to
existing school buildings, and sewage disposal plants for school buildings (herein
called the "Project ") the total Bost of which is estimated to be $258,892.89.
In the event this application is approved and the Government offers to assist
in financing the oonstruction of the Project, and the Spplieent accepts such offer,
the Board of Commissioners for the Counfy of Harnett will all obligations of the
County of Harnett in an amount Mich, together with the grant, will, in the judgment
of the Applicant and the Federii Saergeney Administrator of Public forks, be suf-
ficient to construct the Project, such obligations to be seamed in such manner, to
bear interest at such rate, to be in such form, to be payable at such time or times
and at such place or places, to be In such denominations and to have such registra-
tion privileges as nay be satisfactory to the Applicant and to the said Jdministrato:
It is expressly understood that if the Government makes the above requested log:
and grant, the applicant, in accepting such loan and grant proceeds, in expending
the same, and in carrying out the construction of the Project, will abide by all
rules and regulations prescribed by the Government.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Board of Commissions,* for the County of Harnett, has
caused this instrument to be duly executed in its name, this the 5th. day of August,

execute and file and application on behalf of the Board of Commissioner for the
County of Harnett to the United Pastes of America for a loan and grant to aid is
financing the construction of additions to the County none and the County Jail in
Harnett County, North Carolina.
Section 2: That J.S. McLean, Bounty Auditor, be and he is hereby directed to furnish
such information as the United States of America through the Federal Emergency
Administration of Public Works may reasonably request in connection with the appli-
cation which is herein authorized to be filed.
