July 15th. 1935.
The Board of County emmissioners net in call session with the following
members present: J.B.Ennis, Chairman, Geo. ;. Noel, J.S. Barker, B.L. Cooke and
A.A. Caneron.
In joint session with the Board of Education the question of applying
for loans for the building and improvements of sohools and others projects from
the Federal Godverment was disoussed at length and the following Resolution was
adopted by the Board of County Commissioners:
WEEMS, The Board of Ideation has certified that the buildings, equip-
ments and improvements and land purchases set forth in the certified copies here-
inafter set forth:
Be it resolved, that a proper application be filed with the Federal
Asergency Administration of Public Works for the amounts set forth in said
Resolutions of the Board of Eduoation and also for the a of #21,672.00 for
Jail improvements, *1000.00 for equipment on jail and t5S00.00 for County Hate
Improvement.

It is ordered that the County Auditor bs instructed to sign Fifty ioller

It is ordered that Delay Langdon be allowed to purchase beer license in
Harnett County.
It is ordered that the Tax Aollector be instructed to advertise sale of
Lead for deliaqueat taxes on the lst. of Sept. 1935.
It is ordered that the Gouty convey to Mad McLeod its interest in that
rtain tract of land In Upper Little jiver Township containing 30 acres known
Veaoe Cetton lead for the sum of $75.00.

SS IT RESOLTSD BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF HARNETT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of lineation of Harnett County finds as a fact, and

necessary for the establishment and Maintenance of State System of Schools in

is necessary or the establishment and maintenance of State System of Public
Schools in District No. 8;
4. That the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County be requested as an
administratvie agency of the State of North Carolina, to provide' the sum not
exceeding $67,021.50 for the erection of the school building eesationed in
paragraph one of this resolution and the suer not exceeding 27,600. to purchase
equipment for said building and a sum sufficient to acquire by purchaser or
eondesmation proceedings not leas than 6 acres adjacent to the present school
site in District No. 6; and the further sum not exceeding $3,333.33 for the
purchase *and installation of a septic tank and sewerage disposal bed to be placed
on the sohool site of said District No. 6;
6. That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the Board
of Commissioners of Barnett County.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF HARNETT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of Education of Barnett County finds as a fact, and
it does so find, that the erection of a "school building, at a cost not
exceeding $51,015.50 in School District No. 3, known as the Benhaven Dibtriet,
and according" to the plans now on file in the office of the Superintendent of
Public Education it Harnett County,' which, plans were prepared by W.H.Dietrick,
Architect, is necessary for the establishment and maintenance of State System
of Public Schools in Harnett County, North Carolina, and especially in
District No. 3, and the ,said board finds it necessary to purchase and install
equipment in said building to cost not exceeding $5,700.00
2. That the Board of Education finds .as a fact, and it does so find,
that it is necessary for the establishment and maintenance" of State System of
Public Schools in ° Harnett "County, and especially in. District No. 3, that a
tract of land containing three acres adjacent to the present school site,
known as the Benhaven School, be acquired, either by purchase or condemnation
proceedings on which to erect, the school building mentioned in paragraph one ;;
hereof;
3. That the Board of Education finds as a fact, and it does so find,
that the purchasing and installing of °a filter bed for sewerage disposal on
the site of the Benhaven School in School District No. 3, at a cost not
exceeding $3,333.33, is necessary for the establishment and maintenance of
State System of Public Sehdtls in District Be. 3;.;
4..; That the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County be requested as
an administrative agency of the State of North Carolina, to provide the sum
not exceeding $61,015.50 for the erection of the school building mentioned in
paragraph one hereof and not exceeding $5,700.ito_ purchase the equipment
referred to in the same paragraph, and the sum sufficient to acquire by .
purchase or condemnation proceedings three acres of land adjacent to the present
school site of Benhaven School, in District No. 3, and for the further sum of
not exoeedtng.$3,333.33 for the purchase and installation of a sewerage disposal
bed to be placed on the school site of the Benhaven School in said District No.3;
5„ That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the board
of Commissioners, of Harnett County.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF'NARNETT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of Education of Harnett County finds as a fact,
and it does so find, that the purchasing and installing of a sewerage disposal
bed on the site of the Anderson Creek School in District No. 1, at a cost not
exceeding $3, 333.33, is necessary for the establishment and maintenance of'..
State System of Public Schools in District No, 1 as required by the
Constitution of North - Carolina;';
2. That the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County be requested,
as an admi,nistrat we agency of the State of North Carolina, to provide a ,
sum not exceeding $5,333.43" for . the purchase and installation of a sewerage,
disposal bed to be placed on the school site of Anderson Creek School, in
said District No. 1.
3. That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the
Board of Commissioners of Harnett County.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF HARNEfT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1, That the Board of Education of Harnett County finds as a fact,
and it does so find, that the addition of one auditorium and one class room
to the present building known as Buckhorn School Building in District No. 7 ..-
at a cost not exceeding $14,842.50, and according to the plans prepared by
W.B.Dietrick, Architect, and,now on file in the office of the Superintendent
of Public Education of Harnett,; County, is necessary for the establishment°
and maintenance of State System of Schools in Warnett County, N.C. and
especially in School District No. 71 as required by the Constitution of North
Carolina, and the said Board finds further that it is necessary to purchase
and install equipment in said building to cost not exceeding $1,500.
2. That the Board of Commissioners of Barnett County, be requested,
as an administrative agency of the State of North Carolina, to provide the
sum of not exceeding $14,842.50 for the erection of the addition of one
auditorium and one, class room to the present building, known as Buckhorn
School Building, in District No. 7; and the sum of not exceeding $1,500
to purchase equipment for the auditorium and class room mentioned in paragraph
one of this resolution.
3. That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the
Board of commissioners of Barnett County.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF BARNETT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of Education of Barnett County finds as a fact, and
does so find, that the addition of four standard class rooms to the present
Erwin School building in District No. 5, at a cost not exceeding #17,737.50,
and according to the plans prepared by W,H.Dietrick, Architect, and now on
tile in the office of the Superintendent of Public-Edueation of Barnett County,
is necessary for the estahtdibmentt and maintenance of State System of Sohools
in Harnett County, N.C., and especially in School District No. 5, as required
by the Constituion of Borth Carolina; and said Board finds it necessary to
purchase and install equipment in said additional rooms to cost not exceeding
$1,500.
2. That the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County be requested, as
an administrative agency of the State of North Carolina, to provide the sum of
not exceeding #17,737.50 for the erection of the addition of four standard
classrooms to the present Erwin School Building, in District No. 5, and not
exceeding #1,500. to purchase equipment for said additional rooms.
3. That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the Board
of Commissicrers of narnett County.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE DOARD OF EDUCATION 07 HARNETT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of Education of Harnett County find as a fact, and
does so find, that the addition of -three class rooms to the resent Shawtown
School Building, in District No. 8, at a -cost not exceeding #7,461.50 and
according to the plans prepared by W.H.Dietrick,- Architect, and now on file
in the office of the Superintendent of Pubiic-Edueation of Harnett County,
is necessary for the establishment and maintenance of. State System of Public
Schools in Barnett County, N.C. and especially in School District No. 8, as
required by the Constitution of North Carolina, and said Board further finds
that it is necessa to purchase and instals equipment in said building to
cost not exceeding #700.
2. Mkt the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County be requested, as
an administrative agency of the State of North Carolina, to proud* the sum of
not exceeding $7,461.50 for the section of the addition of three class rooms
to the present Shawtown School Building in District No. 8; and the sum of not
exceeding #700. to purchase equipment for said three rooms.
3. That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the Board
of Commissioners of Harnett County.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF BARNETT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of Education of Harnett County finds as a fact, and
does so find, that the addition -of a home economics room, vocational
agriculture room, two primary.class rooms and a library -study ball to the
resent Lafayette School District, in District No. 7, at a cost not exceeding
$28,887.40,'and according to the plans prepared by W.H.Deitriok, architect,
and now on file in the office of the' Superintendent of Public Education of
Harnett County, is necessary for the establishment end maintenance of State
System of Public Schools in Harnett County, N.C. and especially in School
District No. 7, as required by the Constitution of North Carolina; and the
said Board finds further that -it is necessary - to purchase and install
equipment for the additional rooms to cost not exceeding #8,000.
2. That the said Board of Commissioners of £arett County be requested,
as an administrative agency of the State of North Carolina, to provide the
sum of not exceeding #28,887.40 for the erection of the addition of a home
economics room", vocational agriculture -root, two primary Blass rooms ante library - study kall to the prefect 'Lafayette School building in District No. 7;
and the sum of not exceeding" $2,000. for the purchase of equipment of said rooms.
3. tkat a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the Board
of 4ommissionem of Harnett County.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF HARNETT COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of Education yof Burnett County finds as a feet,
and it does so find, that the erection at a: school building on a site of
ten acres to be aequired later, and . to be used as a high school building
for colored pupils in District No. 3 at a cost not exceeding 322,680.00,
which building shall be erected according to the plans prepared by
W.H.Deitriek, Architect, and now on file in the office of the Superintendent
of Public Education of Harnett County, is necessary for the establishment
and maintenance of State System of Public Stshools in Harnett County, N.C.
and especially in School District No. 3, as required by the Constitution S
of North Carolina, and the said Board further finds it to be necessary gib
purchase and install equipment in said building to cost not exceeding 31,100.
2. _Mkt the Board of Education finds, as a faot,'and does .. so find,
that it is necessary for the 'establishment~ and maintenance of State System
of Public Schools in Harnett County, and especially in District No. 3, as
required by the Constitution of the State of North Carolina, that a tract
of land containing ten acres be acquired either by purchase or condemnation
proceedings on which to erect the school building mentioned in paragraph
one hereof;
3. That the Board of Commissioners of Barnett County be requested,
as an administrative agency of the State of North Carolina, to provide the
sum of not exceeding $22,6. for the erection.of °the school building
mentioned in paragraph one hereof; and 31,100. to purchase equipment
referred to in the same paragraph, and a sum sufficient to acquire by
purchase or condemnation proceedings a suitable site -in District No. 3 on
which said building shall be erected;
4. That a certified copy of this resotutttan.Isbell be delivered to
the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County

TO THE HONORABLE STATE HIGHWAY AND PUBLIC WORKS COMM.,
We, the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, respectfully acknowledge our
appreciation of the work heretofore done by your Commission on the Highway from
Erwin to Linden, inek4rding the construction of the spelndid new bridge across
Cape Fear River; but we Call your attention to the fact that in order for the
public to get anything like the full benefit from this expenditure that the road
Should br .completed, including the construction of a two -way standard bridge
across Little River. We earnestly urge that you provide for this work in the
present years program.
