The Board of County Commissioners met in- regular'session with the- following
members present: J.B.Ennis, Chairman; H.M.0'quinn, E.L.Cooke, JD.Byrd, and
J.S.Barker. Also I.R.Williams, County A ?torney.
It is ordered that the appointment of C.S.Adams as cotton weigher of the Town
of Angier by the Board of Alderman of said Town, be approved by this Board.
It is ordered that a Committee composed of Miss Lillie Davis, J.B.Ennis,
J.S.MoLean, end I.R.williams, be appointed to investigate the question of the -
erection of an addition to Coats School. This Committee to act with Pro$.Owen
Odum and Dr. J.R.Butler, of the Coats School District.
It is ordered that the County Purchasing Agent be authorized to purchase
a filing cabinet for the County Agent's Office.
It is ordered that the report of G.L.Cannaday, Tax Collector, be accepted
and filed.
It is ordered that teport of Geo. L.Cannaday, Collector of Privilege Tax,
be accepted, and filed.
It is ordered that report of L.M.Chaffin, C.S.C. be accepted and filed and
checks in the amounts of 474.90 and $23.74 be delivered to_the County Auditor
for distribution.
It is ordered that report of Dr. A.w.Peede, County Health Officer, be accepted
and filed.

It is ordered that former order of this Board,requiring that all insurance
on County property be placed on a blanket plan, be rescinded and all Insurance
Agents be requested to be present at the first Monday Meeting in May at 10:00 A.M.
It is ordered that the statement of Ben Hurt Life Insutanee in the sum of
$1860.90 for principal and interest be ordered paid d
when funds in the Bond Fund
are sufficient.
It is ordered that the sum of $40.00 be appropriated for the use -of
C.H.Avery, Special Deputy Sheriff in Duke Township.
It is ordered that Geo. L.Hemmingway be ranted a relief in valuation on
1928
taxes xes of $500.00 as 33 acres valued at 500.00 was listed in Cumberland
David Hunter Denning, of Benson, N.C. be granted Peddler's
on account of physical disability.
H.M.Beasley of Grove Township., be refunded $3.00 dog tax
County.
It is ordered that the valuation of that 104 acre tract of land in Grove
Township listed in name of J.I.Newton, be reduced by va e of $400.00 for
year 1932 and $300.00 for year 1933, the Board having or a fact that the said
house valued at $400.00 in 1932, was destroyed by fire during year of 1931.

RESOLUTION:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the 104 acres of land of J.R. Adams in Grove Township,
Harnett County, described in Book 226, page 558, from Mrs. Tobitha Cobb and
husband, to J.R.Adams, be released of all taxes upon the payment of taxes on
valuation of $285.00 for years 1928, 1929 1930 and total tax of $7.11 1928
and $7.42 1929 and $7.52 for 1930, total $22.07 for 3 years. It is further
ordered that County take a nonsuit in J.D. No. page , Judgment N.A -415 at
cost of County and County Attorney is authorize-rind directed to take said
nonsuit, and Auditor is directed to execute proper receipt upon payment of said
taxes on said 104 acres.

RESOLUTION:
Resolved that the 61.45 acres of land described in Deed by D.B.Teague,Trustee,
to Neill C.Sulth, recorded in Book 250, page 291, of Registry of Harnett County,
be released of all Harnett County Taxes for
and all prior years upon payment of sum of 7.17 a for 1933dand3sum ofl$13.39dfor 1928
1932 and sum of $13.24 for 1931 and sum of $15.98 for year 1928; and whereas, said
Neill C.Smith has heretofore paid on said taxes $52.28, the Auditor is authorized
and directed to refund sun of $2.54;
Further, the County Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to nonsuit
action of Harnett County vs J.E.Phillips heirs 3fD. 22, page 317, ik -317 Clerk's
office Harnett County at the cost of County of Harnett; And further the Auditor
of Harnett County, is authorized and directed to exeoute and deliver to Neill C.
Smith a proper receipt 4d full and final payment of all fixes on said 61.45 acres
of land for years 1933 and prior years.

This is a part of a certain 501 pore tract conveyed to J.B.Reeves by the
Eureka Land Company which deed is recorded in the office of the Register of.Deeds
of Harnett County Book 235, page 18 •
AND WHEREAS, the said tract of-land is about 50 acres, which has a taxable
value of $455.00
WHEREAS, the taxes on the said property have not been paid for the years 1929,
1930, 1931, 1932 and 1933 - - -
WHEREAS, the County of Harnett -has heretofore insitutted suit in the Superior
Court of Harnett County for the purpose of foreclosing the tax receipt for year
1929 as will appear by reference to the case of Harnett Bounty vs Eureka Land Co.
and J.B.Reeves, being Case No, in the office of the Clerk of the Court of Harnett
County, -in which said Foreclosure suits the property above referred to is a part
of a 501 acre tract, and this suit not having been prosecuted to final judgment;and,
WHEREAS, the said Miss Margaret Dicks has made a tender of the -proporationate
part of the amount of taxes due and costs thus far incurred in the pending
litigation above referred to through her attorney Neill McK.Ross to J.S.McLean,
the Auditor for Harnett County, on the tract of land above described; That the -
tax including the accrued cost on this tract of land for the years 1929 is $10.99
1930 $12.06, 1931 $10.36, 1932 11100, 1933 $6.21, a total of $50.61
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
HARNETT COUNTY IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED ON THIS THE FIRST MONDAY OF APRIL
(1) The said J.S.MeLean, Auditor for Harnett County be empowered to accept
1934, THAT:
the said check of Neill McK.Ross , Attorney for Miss Margaret Dicks, in pgt
of all accured taxes against the above described tract of land.
