HomeMy WebLinkAbout0404193255 April 4th. 1932. The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with the following members present: E.L.Cooke,Vioe- Chairman, J.H.Williams,H.M.O'*ninn and J.B. Annie. Dr. Halford,Shairman, absent on account of illness. It was ordered that Chairman appoint a committee composed of J.S.Melean,and J.B.Annia to investigate the bill of A.L.Overby for the burial of Anderson "oats and report to next meeting. It was ordered that J.S.MoLean, Auditor, be and he is hereby empowered to change to Number of sores listed by J.B. Brown, deod. in Grove Township from 45 to 331 acres and to make the valuation correspond with the number of acres ant that the Auditor release said excess from taxation for the years 1929, 1930 and 1931. It was ordered that E.L.Cooks investigate valuation of property of Mrs.C.B. Barefoot in Ave. Township and report to Board at next meeting. It was ordered that aotion on petition for road in Ave. Township be deferred until next regular meeting. The road in this petition known as "Jernigan Woad*. It was ordered that Jesse M.Ailson, Aversaboro Township be released of Poll Tax for the years 1930 and 1931. It was ordered that R.F.Hulon, Adult Twp., be released of poll tax for years 1931 and 1932. It was ordered that Mrs. J.D.Johnson be allowed $2.00 per day for 13 days as erupt. of Bounty Home. Resolved that aounty Auditor be authorized to pay C• «.Bray the sum of $600.0 on the services rendered in connection with the issue of $60,000.00 bonds,whieh have been sold, which sum is due Mr. Bray according to contract and that same be paid from bond fund. It was ordered that valuation of property of Jarvis M. Sickens in Upper Little River Township be reduced Seas $130.00 for the year 1931 on account of error is listing. It was ordered that valuation of lands of Mrs. Maud Cameron in U.L.R.Twp. be reduced $850.00 for the year 1931 on account of error in listing. It was ordered that Ass Mcqueen be instructed to investigate condition of John Williams, applioant for aid from poor fund. It is ordered that oath of J.A. McLean, County Tax Supervisor and all assis- tants be approved and ordered recorded in the Minute Joiket. It was ordered that kiss Mogneen investigate the oondition of Daniel Taylor and report to Board. Miss Mcqueen having reported her findings in regard to Daniel Taylor ahs was authorized to provide necessary food supplies for hia until further notice. It was ordered that Miss iuby Pope be allowed $7.50 for stenographic work in 0.E.Griffin inquest. It was ordered that report of L.M. Chaffin,C.S.C. be accepted and ordered filed. It was ordered that petition for road in Black River Twp. beginning at a point near J J Gilbert's plaoe on Route No 210 to a point on the road leading from Reuben Matthews Mill Pond to Angier be approced and that the State Highway Commission be requested to take action on this project at once. 56 RESOLUTION: *Whereas the teachers for School Term 1931- 32: District #80, Local Tax District, Boone Trail, have agreed to advance to the District Bund of said Sias trict the sum of $ in order that the said "istrict may receive from the Tax Distribution Fund the amount appropriated by State Board of Equalization for soak purpose; Now. Therefore be it resolved that the Oounty editor be authorized and he is hereby directed to pay over to said teachers of Bistrict No. 80, Boone Trail, the sums so advanced by each teacher as collected from any taxes heretofore levied in said District for purpose pf *eying the expenses of the ex- tended term beyond the Wonstitutional Six Months Termf? J.W. Lucas presented to the Board a certificate pf H.W.Prince,Surveyor, sh showing that the 69 acre tract owned by him in Grove Township contained only 34 acres. The Board finds as a fact that 29 acres of the 34 acres are cleared and cultivated and that 5 acres are low grounds. It is therefore ordered that the Auditor release Mr.J,W.Lucas from the payment of taxes on 30 acres of woodland for the years 1929 - 1930 -1931 and that any amounts paid as taxes on said 30 acres of woodsland be refunded to him. RESOLUTION: That Whereas on the 31 day of /an. 1932 I R.Williams,gommissioner of the Court advertised and sold for delinquent taxes due by W.C.Rambeaut fifteen acres of land in Black Fiver Township, as will appear by,deed dated 31 day of Jan. 1929 and recorded in Book at page ,Registry og Harnett bounty; and that whereas W.M. Crawford has acquired all rights, titles and interests of W.Q.Rambeaut in and to the fifteen acres of land by foreclosure sale under deed of trust dated March 30, 1930 and recorded in Book 239, page 86, Registry of Harnett Wounty, and has #ald into the "ounty of Harnett the sum of One Hundred Sixty Five and 44/100 'ollars, the same bang for delinwuent taxes, including costs and .penalties ae -- erued, held and charged against the said land and desires the county of Harnett to convey unto him all such rights,title.and interest that it has or ought to have i said lands; BE IT''.Bm:OREDRESOLVED, That the tlounty of Harnett do release and quit- claim unto the said W.M.
