The following persons were appointed List Takers for the various Townships of the County: Anderson Creek Averasboro Barbecue Black River Buckhorn Duke Grove Hectors Creek Johnsonville Lillington Neills Creek Stewarts Creek Upper Little River J.L. Marsh Carl Barefoot J.W. Campbell C.S. Adams L.B. McKinnie J.E. Mciamb Henry Turlington D.R.Smith C.C. Cameron H.T. Faucette A.M. Long Graham Campbell H.MOD. Ray It was ordered that Mrs. Dallas Kelly be allowed 05.00 per month from Mother's Aid fund temporarily. It was orcered that the valuation of lot of Mrs. Dore M. Poole in Averasboro Township be reduced to 01500.00. It was ordered that valuation of 1 lot in Grove Township listed by J.D.Hill be cheg8ed to 0720.00 on account of error in revaluing. It was ordered that Board of Commissioners wire ientora Morrison and Bailey asking their aid in securing Seed and Fertilizer Loan blanks at once. It was ordered that a committee composed of commissioners, Cooke and Ennis and County Attorney, I.R.Williams be appointed to investigate the value of the real estate of Mrs. ilonnie May Tart in Averesboro Township. It was resolved that I.R.Williems, County Attorney, be authorized to con- sent to a judgment of non -suit in the case of the County of Harnett VS Mrs. T.L. Sewell in Luke Township upon the payment to County Auditor of all taxes and costs. It was resolved that the County of Harnett convey to E.F.Young or to any person named by him all interest of the County of Harnett in that lot of lend known as the Louise Y. Fitzgerald residence lot in the Town of Dunn for 41740.00 and that the Chairman and m'ecretary be authorized to execute ded'd for same. It was ordered that a temporary allowance of 015..;0 per month be allowed Walter Core for treatment at Sanatorium,N.C• It was ordered that F.S. Blanchard be allowed to cut timber on land in Buckhorn Township uon which County has first lien and that I.R.Williams prepare satisfactory bond in the sum of 41000.00. It was ordered that a ComL;ittee composed of Dr.Halford,J.S.McLean and I.R. Williams be authorized to settle tax matter of E.F.Young in Lillington Township. It was ordered that F.M. Beecham be allowed to sell Rawleigh's products in Harnett "ounty for one year at the tax of 025.00 It was orcered that the Board rent to J.O.Sutton z "tout 16 acres of lend et the County Farm upon terms of a contract to be drawn by Mr.Williams,0o.Attorney. It was ordered that the valuation of lot formerly owned by A:M.Shaw, but now owned by N.W. Gregory be placed at 0400.00 and that auditor release said lot upon payment of the taxes on said valuation. It was ordered that petition for Road in U.L.R. Township leading from Boone Trail School (near) to a point on the Pee Dee Road b< approved and the State High- way "ommission be requested to action on this project at once. It was ordered that petition for road in Barbecue Township leading from A.A. Cameron's Residence to the residence of Alton Thomas be approved and that the State Highway "ommission be requested to take action on this project at once. It was ordered that report of Dr. A.W.Peede, County Physician be acceped and filed. It was ordered that report of J.O.Anthony,County Agent, be accepted and filed. It was ordered that Report of L.M. Chaffin,C.S.C. be accepted and filed and checks for *167.90 and $50.75,respectively, be ordered delivered to the County Auditor. It was ordered that report of G.L.Cannaday,Tax Collector, be accepted and filed. It was ordered that report of G.L.Cannaday,Collector of Privilege Tax be accepted and filed. It was ordered that report of Miss McCaeen,Welfare Officer,be accepted & filed. It was ordered that report of visa D.Herring,uol.Ferm Agent, be accepted and filed. It was ordered that J.S.McLean,4uditor, issue release to Alice McLean Estate in Upper Little Liver Township for *250.00 fgr the years 1928, 1929 and 1930,and after list same to Alice I. McLean. This order is made because of the fact that the Board of Commissioners ordered a release of $250.00 on July 2,1928 to Alice McLean Estate and 4lice I. McLean got the benefit of said release by clerical error. Upon recommendation of County Attorney, I.R.Williams and County Huditor,J.S. McLean, it was ordered by the Board that Geo. D, Woodley be allowed to pay taxes on land purchased for taxes at Commissioner's Sale after being segregated and releasing him of the payment of personal property tax. It was resolved that the valuation of the estate of Alma F. Young in Awer- asboro township be placed at $12056.00 and the Auditor be ordered to so correct the tax list to this effect and issue rebate for the difference. RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, 'ection Vii of the School Legislation passed by the General Assem- bly, Session 1931, specifies that the expenditures for maintenance of plant and fixed charges shall be supplied, as far as possible, out of funds recfiired by law to be placed to the credit of public school funds of the "ounty and derived from fines, forfeitures, penalties, penalties and dog; .AND WHEREAS, the State Board of Equalization has allotted all of the funds derived from poll tax for schools above 20% of the levy. AND WHEREAS? it is a fact that the funds derived from the sources specified in the law will not pe sufficient to pay the necessary items for the schools in Harnett bounty, classified under maintenance of plant and fized charges. THEREFORE? BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett "ounty that it will be agreeable to said Board and this Board agrees to place in the County budget for 1932633 funds necessary to pay the balance due for insurance, repairs to buildings and grounds and rant, if at the end of this term,sufficient funds have not been collected from funds specified above to pay all of these bills WHEREAS, the County of Harnett by virtue of the deed executed by J.0. -West, Commissioner, to the County of Harnett dated the 9th.day of November, 1931 is the owner of the followin_ described lot of land, situated in Averasboro Town- ship:, Harnett County, and in the corporate limits of the town of Dunn. Beginning at the intersection of the South line of East `umberland Street with the West line of South Magnolia .avenae in the town of inn and runs thence Southwardly with said line of Magnolia kvenue 100 feet; thence Westwardly parallel with East `tumberland Street 70 feet to the alley; thence Northwardly with the alley and parallel with Magnolia Avenue 100 feet to said line of tmber- land Strett; thence with said line of gimmberland Street Eastwardly 70 feet to the beginning, and being Tract No 1 described in a deed of Moses Tripp and wife, Florence Tripp to.Richard M. Tripp and others, dated uctober 3, 1911, and regis- tered in Book 175 page 344, in the office of the Register of Deeds of Harnett County. AND WHEREAS, Homer L. Hamilton of Knoxville, Tenn., is the Owner of a deed of trust executed by J.N. Creel,Jr and wife Katie Hodges Creel to I.R.Wil liams, Trustee, which deed of trust is recodad in Book 231, page 209, and WHEREAS there is due on the notes secured by said deed of trust the sum of 42432.20 with accrued interest; and 53 WHEREAS i.N. Creel and wife ?" tie Hodges Creel have informed the Board of Harnett County Commissioners that they are unable to purchase the above described lot: NOW THL'REFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Chairman of the Board of Commission- ers be authorized and he is here. y directed to execute to the name of the County of Harnett a deed which sha_1 be at tested by the Clerk of this Board, and which deed shell convey the above described la nds to Homer L. Baggett; and WHEREAS, Venable S. Baggett borrowed from the "urham Loan and Trust Wom- pany the sum of Five Thousand Five Hundred ($5500.00) Dollars, as shown by deed of trust, which deed of trust is recorded in Book 218, page 511, in the office of the register of Deeds of Harnett County; and WHEREAS, the Home Land and Investment oompbny has offered the County of Harnett the sum of Four Hundred Sixty Nine and 01 /100 "ollars ($469.01) for the said tract of land;and WHEREAS; The Durham Loan and Trust "ompany being the holder of said deed of trust above mentioned has requested that -this land be conveyed to the Home Land end Investment Company; and WHEREAS, Venable S. Baggett, former owner of said lend has informed the Board of Col:bassioners of his inability to redeem the said land; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the `aunty of Harnett convey said lands to the Home Land and Investment Oompany and that the `chairman of the Board of ' om- missioners of Harnett County, or the Vice - Chairman thereof, be and they are hereby authorized to execute a proper deed in the name of the County to be at tested by the Clerk of this Board.
