It was ordered that petition of J.G. Layton and others for maintenance of road in Lillington and Upper Little River Townships be approved and that this Board request the State Highway Commission to take action on this project at once. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA: Lillington, N.C. COUNTY OF HARNETT. October 26th. 1931. RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 5 of The County Finance Act as amended by Section 63 of the Local Government commission Act of 1931 as amended, for the purpose of paying the principal or interest of bonds or notes issued for necessary expenses evidencind indebtedness incurred before March 18, 1931, and due or to become due within four months and not otherwise adequately provided for, the County of Harnett shall borrow $65,000Q00 in anticipation of the receipt of the revenues of the current fiscal year, and issue notes therefor, dated October 30th. 1931, and maturing November 3Oth. 1931, bearing interest at tip rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum, payable at maturety, principal and interest payable at T e Chase National Bank in New York,New York, in denomination of $5,000.00 each,nhm- bered from 15 to 27,inclusive, and issued in substantially the following form,to- wit: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA County of No REVENUE ANTICIPATION NOTE $ THe County of in the State of ..orth Carolina, for value received here- by promises to pay to the bear hereof the sum of Dollars on the day of 19 , with interest thereon from the date hereof until paid at the rate of er cent per annum, payable at the maturety thereof, both principal and in- aereat of this note are payable in gold (spin of the United States of the present standard of weight and fineness at the Bank, in the City and State of New York. RESOLVED, that the Local Government Commission of North Carolina be requested to exchange and award said notes to Bray Brothers Company of Greenaboro,N.C• ex- changing $65,000.00 Harnett County, N.C. Revenue Anticipation Notes, bearing 6% interest, for a like amount of Harnett County, N.C• 6$ notes maturing Oct.30th. 1931. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED-, That the Chairman, The Clerk of this Board, the County Accountant and the County Attorney, be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said notes; and the State Treasurer is hereby requested to deliver the same in-accordance with said exchange on receipt of a like face amount of notes of 10 said County maturing October 30th. 1931, said notes to be cancelled and delivered to the proper County Officials. On motion duly seconded, a roll -call note was had, and all of the five members were present and voted in favor of said resolution, none being absent. The Board is composed of five duly electeed, qualified and acting members, viz; J.W.Halford,Chairman, E.L.Cooke, H.M.OtQ inn, J.H.Williams,Jr and J.B.Ennis; and Edwin Harrington is Clerk of said Board; `and all of the members were duly notified of this meeting.
