The Board of bounty Commissioners met in regular session with the following
members present: J.W. Halford, Chairman, E.L. Cooke, J.B. Ennis, H.M.O'quinn
and J.H. Williams: Absent, None. Present also was I.R.Williams, County Attorney.
It was ordered that a committed composed of the Chairman, J.W. Halford, J.B.Ennis
and J.H. Williams be appointed to investigate the real estate values of the real
estate of K.L. Howard in Averasboro Township.
It is ordered that all Court officers in the County be requested to collect by
proper process of law all fines, forfeitures and costs now past due.

Matthews, jointly, and that check for same be mailed to G.B.Hanrahan,jelfare Officer
of Lenoir Gounty at Kinston, N.C.
It was ordered that $3.00 per month be allowed Ed Blue for his care and that cheek
be delivered to Miss Mcqueen for distribution.
It was resolved that J.S. McLean, County Auditor and H.M.0114uinn, Co. t'omm. be
appointed a 4oinnittee to adjust the valuation of the 29 acre tract of land owned
by Title Guaranty Insurance Company and formerly owned by B.J. McFarland and that
J.0. West be requested to take non -suit in case it is found that taxes have already
been paid.

RESOLUTION:
It is hereby ordered that the 134 acres of land of Farmers Cotton Oil °ompany in
Barbecue Township be assessed for year 1931 at sum of $1950.00, being a reduction nl
from 42250.00 on 154 acres, there being in fact but 134 acres of said land.
It is ordered that J.S. McLean,- =auditor, be allowed to accept check of $97.41 tendered
by Jefferson `.tandard Life Insurance Company in payment of 1929 and 1930 taxes on lands
of O P. Shell- -and C.A. Shell, described in the letter attached provided the said
amount of cheek is correct.
It is ordered, subject to the approval of the Local Government Commission of the
State of North Carolina, that the bond of the Treasurer of Harnett county be reduced
from the present sum of 450,000.00 to the sum of 435,000.00(Thirty five thousand)
which said bond shall be secured as follows: 430,000.00 to be ith IR U.S.F. and G.

It is ordered that the following resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED That the lot at corner of 8th. and I Streets in Lillington adjoining stewarts
Garage now owned by J.J. Lanier, be teleased of all 1929 taxes, said tax having been
duly paid by M.T. Spears on Jan. 15th. 1930 as assessed against said lot. Further
the tax sale of said lot by the Tax collector September 22nd, 1930 and certificate
issued therefrom is hereby declared void as to said lot and the County Suditor,stedman
Mc"ean is hereby authorized and directed to mark upon the face of the said certificate
of sale that same is void and cancelled by order of Gounty Commissioners as to said Lot
adjoining Stevarts Garage on 8th and I Streets, Lillington, the tax on said lot having
been duly paid prior to sale thereof.

The Board of Commissioners met in regular sessdon with effe following members
present: J.W. Halford, Chairman, J.H.Williams, E.L.Oooke, J.B. Ennis and H.M.O'Quinn

It was ordered that J.S. McLean, County Auditor, be instruted to investigate the
valuation of the wood land of G.L. Hemmingway as compared with M.E. Thornton, ad-
joining land owner, in Averasboro Townkhip and report to Board.
It was ordered that J.S. McLean, Bounty Auditor, investigate the listing of five
dogs-by Garland Sloan and J.M. Sloan and advise the Board as to whom should pay
tax on these dogs in case that'he finds that only five dogs are owned
by the two.
3t was ordered that Miss McQueen be instructed to investigate the _condition of Mrs.
Butler as to her children and report to the Board as to what disposition she thinks
should be made of them.
It was ordered that G.L. Hemingway be released of taxes evaluation of 41080.00 for
the years 1928, 1929 and 1930 on account of excess valuation of wood land.
It was ordered that Geo. E. Tew be released from the payme4t of poll tax for the
year 1930.
It was ordered that Garland Sloan be released of $5.00 dog tax as dogs were listed
and taxes paid by J.M. Sloan.
It was ordered that bond of Geo. L. Cannday, Tae Collector, for 050000,00 with Oarolir.a
Causalty Company be accepted and filed 'e doh i d recorded,
It as ordered that T.R. Brown be instructed to proceed with the erection of a
sto_age house at the County Home for the storage of meat, etc. at the lowest possi-
ble'dost for a building to be built of brick.
It was ordered that L.M. Chaffin be instructed to purchase new volume of GonsolidateL
Statutes for the sum of $15.00 with exchange of old volumes,
