HomeMy WebLinkAbout04151943484 April 15,1943 The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday April 19,1943 with J.B.Ennis, R.L.Pate, Ferd D.Jaekson and L.R. Byrd,Angus A.Cameron being absent also absent was H.C.Strickland County Atty. The Chairman presented check #8435 in amount of $190.28 from Cumberland County A.B.Q. Board for the sale of The meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the advisability of investing idle funds of Harnett County in Government War Bonds for the double purpose of securing interest on the funds and aiding the Government in the prosecution of the war efforts. The matter was presented by County Auditor H.S.Freeman and after due consideration it was ordered that bonds be purchased as follows: 20 series uP Bonds from Township Road Fund at a cost of 148000Oand 20 Series cp Bonds from special school building fund at a cost of 14800G00 It was further ordered that the above action be subject to the approval and consent of the Local Government Commission. The County Auditor was authorized and instructed to make application for the purchase of said Vic. bonds. The Board recessed. Clerk to Board.
