January 1943:
The Board of Commissioner of Harnett County met in regular session on Monday
January 4, at 10:00 A.M. with J.B.Ennis,R. L. Pate,A.A.Cameron,L.R. Byrd & Ferd
D..ackson present. Also present was H.C.Strickland and the Clerk to Board.
The report of Inez Harrington,Register of Deeds was approved and ordered
filed.
The report of noward Godwin,Clerk of Superior Court was approved and ordered
filed.
The report of Lola 0' Quinn,Delinquent Tax Collector was approved and ordered
filed.
The report of '.D. Harrington,Tax Collector was approved and ordered filed.
The bond of Herbert L. Johnson was approved and ordered recorded on the
minutes of this meeting and filed with the C.S.C.
The bond of Horace S. Freeman was approved and ordered recorded on the
minutes of this meeting and the bond filed with the C.S.C.
The bond of Richard Alexander Collier was approved and ordered recorded
on the minutes of this meeting and filed with the C.S.C.
The following road petition was approved:
"Beginning at the homeplace of W.H.Dean in said Township, and continuing
for a distance of approximately two and one half miles to the homeplace of E.M.
Blanchard in said Township, and connecting there with the Buckhorn - Lillington
Road, said road being now used as a neighborhood road and having been used
and worked during the past 75 years."
Beer license were granted to Coy W.Butts at the Triangle Service Station
northeast of Lillington.
It is ordered that Della Wright, colored of Grove Township be released
taxes in the amount of $1.65 for the years 1937,1938, and 1939 on account of an
error in double listing.
It is ordered that the 10 acres of land heretofore listed to L.M.Moore, in
Grove Township, Harnett County, described in Judgment #A -1035 office of Clerk of
Superior Court be quit - claimed to G.J.Woolard upon receipt by the County 1
of the sum of $200. And upon receipt of said sum, the Chairman of Board of
County Commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to execute in the name of
the County a wuit - claimed deed to G.J.Woolard, and the Clerk to the Board will
attest the sane.
The bond of Lonnie B.Jackson was approved and ordered recorded and
filed with C.S.C.

The Charge to Miss O'Quinn, Delinquent Tax Collector has been amended
to correspond with the above figures.
