The Harnett County Board of Equilization & Review convened on Monday March 30,
1942 with all members present, to- gether with H.S.Freeman as clerk.
The following items of business were transacted;
Mr.A.W.Slaughter was allowed a reduction of $50.00 on the valuation of his v"
residence in the Town of Angier. Mr.D.H.Senter was allowed reduction of $380.00
on the value of the house on the Jno.D.Johnson property on Main Street in
Lillington. The Secretary having reported to the Board that the Board of
Appraisers appointed to appraise the value of improvements to real estate and the
value of the various lots in the many subdivisions made during the year had not
finished their work in time for the citizens affected to be notified of the
valuations placed on their property a recess was ordered intill Monday April 13,
1942 at 9 -30 o'clock.

The Harnett County Board of Equilization and Review met for it last meeting of
the year with all members present and with H.S. Freeman as Clerk, on Monday
April 13,1942 at nine thirty A.M. The following items of business were transacted;
Sam Hickman of Barbecue township requested decrease in valuation but, for lack
of valid reason, s ame was denied. C.S.Cade was allowed $125. decrease on the T.J.✓
Smith land in Buckhorn township which he purchased from the County. A valuation
of $655.00 was placed on the lot and $770.00 on the building of the property on
Railroad Avenue,in Dunn belonging to L.B. & Eliza Pope. Dr.W.P.Holt was allowed ✓
reduction of $880. on the old Frank Pearson property on W.Broad Street in Dunn
and $80. one lot on Wayne Street. There being no further business to be brought
before the Board adjournment was ordered.
