HomeMy WebLinkAbout07241950603 JULY 24th 6A.M. The Board of Commissioners of Harnett County met in a call session on Morday July 24th at 6:00 A. M. with C. G. Fields, Canon Gregory, Paul Tysinger,a nd J. A. Senter. Absent was L. A. Tart, Chairman. Also present was County Attorney, the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board. Commissioner Gregory moved seconded by Tysinger that the Agri. Dept. in Harnett County be allowed $250.00 for the purchase of a wire recorder and a public address system. Voting for: .Gregory and Tsinger voting against: Senter Canon Gregory moved, secorded by Tysinger that the Deputy Register of Deeds and the Assistant to' the Tax Supervisor be allowed a monthly salary of $175. Motion carried. The Board allowed the Cook at the County Jail to be paid a salary of $125.00 monthly. Carson Gregory moved that an additional Office for an office clerk and deputy. The 1200 per year be allowed the Sheriff's motion was lost for the lack of a second Commissioner Senter moved that the tax rate be set at $1.22. The motion was lost for the leek' of a second. Commissioner Gregory moved that the tax rate be set at $1.30. Themotton was lost for the lack of a second. J. A. Senter moved seconded by Tsinger that Commissioner Carson Gregory serve as Chairman Protem at this time and the motion was carried. Tysinger moved seconded by Fields that the budget be adopted and the tax rate $1.34. Voting for: Fields and Tysinger. Voting against: Senter. STATE BOARD OF FUBLIC WELFARE RALEIGH, N.
