The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday Feb 6th 1950 at 10:00

A delegation from Anderson Creek Township with Miss Loraine Vail, Home Demonstration
Agent appeared before the Board and request $500.00 from County funds to be used in
the building of a Community Center in Anderson Creek. The Board agreed that this
amount ha been set up two or three years ago and s hould be given for this cause.
The Board of Commissioners will meet with the State Highway Commission oh Feb.
16th at 3:00 P M to discuss road problems in Harnett County and the public will be
notified to appear with their request and needs for roads.
Bond in amount of $1000.!'0 for W F Bethune, Constable in Lillington was approved
and ordered filed with C. S. C.

TOWNSHIP OF LILLINGTON, N. C.
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, W. F. Bethune, Lill4ngton, N. C., as
Principal, and the Maryland Casualty Co., of Baltimore as Surety, are held and firmly
bound unto the State of North Carolina in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00)
to the true and faithful payment whereof we bind ourselves, our heirs, personal
representatives and assigns, jointly end severally, firmly by these presents.
The condition of this obligation is such that whereas the above bounden has been
duly appointed a Constable for Lillington township in and for the County of Harnett
for a term beginning on December 6, 1949 and ending December 6, 1950.
Now Therefore, if the said W F Bethune shall diligently endeavor to collect all
claims put into his hands for collection, and shall faithfully pay over all sums
thereon received, either with or without suit, unto the persons to whom the same
may be due, and shall from tine to time, and at all time during his continuance in
office, faithfully discharge his duties as Constable according to law, then the
above obligation is void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Sec. and M. E. Thornton regular committeeman appeared before the Board of
Commissioners and stated the crowded conditions in the F. M. A. Office and asked that
additional space be added to the A A A Office. the Board adjourned and in a body
visited the office to ascertain the condition.
After some discussion with respect to the request of the delegation from Anderson
Creek the Board was advised by the County Attorney that the County could not legally
any public funds for a Community Center, wher upon the Board ordered that the
request be denied.
