Fields that resolution baning Carnival in Harnett County adopted at a meeting of County Commissioners on Aug. 1st. 1949, be resinded - motion carried. Voting for: Gregory, Tysinger, and Fields, Voting against Senter and Tart. The following road petitions were approved and the Clerk was authorized to mail excerpts to the State Highway & Public ',Yorks Commission: (1) To build and maintain a road from a point on the Johnsonville road at or near McCormick filling station to Lindwey Nursery road a distance of 32 miles. (See minute Book Jan. 3rd. 1949) Voting for: Senter, Tysinger, Fields and Gregory) (2) Build and maintain a road in Grove Township beginning at the home of B. S. Norris on Benson High*ay and leading North to highway going to Bailey's cross road a distance of 1.5 miles. Voting ,:or: Gregory, Tysinger, and Rields, voting against: Senter) 13) Construct a road on the land between C. L. Dixon & J. R. Dixon property at Johnston and Harnett County line in front of the tobacco barn on property V. J. Gregory and extend a distance of 3ti miles due west to old Herbert Johnson place. Ray, Jr. be named Tax Collector for Harnett County effective August 15th, 1949 to serve until June 30, 1950, on condition that he qualify by furnishing bond. Motion carried.
