The board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday, June 20, at 8:00 P M with all members present. Robert S. Johnson, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board and presented the following applications for beer license, which were approved, and the Tax Collector was ordered to issue the license. Detailed budget filed. C. R. AMmons, County Farm Agent, appeared before the Hoed and presented the Budget for the year 1949 -50. Commissioner Fields moved, seconded by Commissioner eregory, that the Farm Agent's Budget be approved in the amount of $12,000.00. Votion for: Fields, Gregory and Tart. Against: Senter and Tysinger. The Board designated Herbert D. Carson, Auditor as the Collector of the Pre - payments of. Taxes for the year 1949. The Board ordered that the County Offices be closed July 4th, and the Board will meet Tuesday July 5th for the regular monthly meeting. The Boat recessed to reconvene on Wed. June 29th at 2 :30 Pi at which time the.State Highway Commission will meet to discuss road problems in Harnett County. The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Wednesday 40451 29th at 2:30 P M with all members presents. Division Commissioner, George Coble and members of the Engineering Staff of the State Highway & Public Works Commission held a joint meeting with the Board of Commissioners and Delegation from the different sections of the County to discuss the road problems in Harnett County. Commissioner John Aaron Senter introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS, we do not feel that the present Public Health Department is being operated efficiently, and WHEREAS, we do not feel that Harnett County is receiving value for the tax dollars being spent for the County Public Health program; and WHEREAS we feel that a change in the office of Public Health Doctor would eleminate these features, and improve the administration of the public health program in Harnett County to the end that a better service could be rendered in return for the amount _expended; NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioner of Harnett County that these sentiments be conveyed to the Harnett County Board of Health, and that the Board- of Health be requested to cooperate in effectuating a change in the office of County Health Doctor immediately. C. G. Fields moved seconded by Paul Tysinger that the foregoing resolution be adopted, voting for: Fields, Senter, Gregory and Tysinger, voting against: none, Motion carried.
