HomeMy WebLinkAbout12011947r76 December 1, 1947 The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday December 1, 1947 at 10:00 A M with all members present.n Report of Inez Harrington, Register of Deeds was approved and ordered filed. Report of Howard Godwin, C.S.C., was approved and ordered filed. Report of W. D. Harrington, Tax Collector was approved and ordered filed. Report of L B McLean, Veteran Service Officer, was approved and ordered filed. The annual report of Howard Godwin, C.S.C. was approved and ordered placed on file. It is ordered that Beer license be issued .to J T Godbold, Jr, Dunn,N.C. #3, at Godbold's Station, 2 miles North of Erwin on Coats Road. By unanimous vote of all Commissioners, Mr. Berles C. Johnson was reappointed Harnett County Tax Supervisor for the term beginning December 1, 1947 and ending the 1st Monday in December, 1948. 7 It was ordered that E. R. Gregory, Dunn,N.C. #3, be released of poll tax permantly on account of being a disabled World War #2 veteran. It is ordered that•W. B. Bruce, Overhills, N.C., be refunded $2.00 on tax valuation because of error in listing personal property. It is ordered that Perry Harvey Lee, Home for .Care due to a physical ailment. It le ordered that $60. per month be beginning Dec. 1, 1947. Dunn,N.C., be admitted to County allowed to the Cook at County Jail B. R. Byrd moved, seconded by R. L. Pate that J. P. Parker be appoint- ed Superintendant of the County -Home for a period of 1 year. Voting for: L. R. Byrd, R. L. Pate, and L. A. Tart, Against: Ferd D. Jackson. The Board appointed Angus A. Cameron & L. A. Tart as County Home Committees. The Board appointed R. L. Pate and Perd D. Jackson as Court House Committee. The Board ordered that the.Blackmon W. Lee be allowed to live at County Home for the winter months and pay *100.'per month, board and care The appointment of Mr.-X.. L. Bishop of Erwin,N.C., as Harnett County Electrical Inspector, expiring December 31, 1947, he is hereby designated and appointed as such inspector for. the County of Harnett as a whole, for the term beginning January 1, 1948. The Board granted authority to Hower& Godwin, C. S. C. to deposit a part of the Clerk of Court's funds in the Commercial Bank Dunn, -N.C., requiring the bank to furnish bond sufficient to cover the deposits. The Following Jurors 5th, 1948. A. C.
