Home My WebLink About08191946253 Minutes of Meeting of Board of Barnett County Commissioners on Monday August 19, 1946. The Members of the Board of Harnett County Commissioners met in special session at their room in the courthouse in Lillington on Monday August 19, 1946. Present: Chairman J. B. Ennis, and commissioners L R Byrd, R L Pate, Ferd D. Jackson, Absent Commissioner Angus A Cameron, .he -being on vacation in the mountains. Attention of the Members was directed to the present temporary indisposition of Icon F H Taylor, Judge of the Harnett County Recorder's court, and to the further fact that the County was without a Vice Recorder. Thereupon it was moved by Commissioner L RByrd, seconded by Commissioner R L Pate that Neill McK Ross, Esquire, of the Harnett Ccunty Bar, be appointed to the office of Vice Recorder of the Barnett County Recorder's Court. The motion was duly put, and by unanimous consent of the Commissioners Hon Neill McK. Ross was appointed as Vice - Recorder of said Court. By unanimous vote of all the members present, the compensation of the Vice - Recorder was fixed at $25.00 for each and every term of court which he may hold in the absence of the Judge of the County Recorders Court. By unanimous vote and order of Board of Commissioners the services of Miss Janet Hood in the indexing office is hereby dispensed with to take effect Aug 15th with 5 days extended as vacation with pay. There being no further business to cane before the meeting it recessed to reconvene the first Monday in Sept.' unless sooner called into meeting by the Chairman, of which due notice will be iven.
