The Boarc of Commissioners met id regular session on Monday February 5, -at 10 :00
with all members present. Also present were H. C. Strickland, County Attorney and
Inez Harrington; Clerk to the Board.
The report of Howard Godwin, C. S. C. was approved and ordered filed.
The report of Inez riarrington, Register of Deeds was approved and ordered filed.
The report of W. D. Harrington was approved and ordered filed.
It is ordered that Arthur Pope be released $11.07 in tax valuatmon on a lincoln
Zepher automobile for year 1944, on account of error in listing.
It is ordered that 10.00 per month be allowed Eugene Butler beginning February
1, 1945
It is ordered that 10.00 per :month be allowed Annie Catherine_Hair beginning
February 1; 1945.
It is ordered that th. eOpenaity0:ofh4A0abe.orefunded to White Dairy on account of
late listing for year of 1944.
Whereas, it is the opinion dt'.the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County that
after checking with the list takers, that they have not had suffient time to list
all taxes, for the year 1945. Now, Therefore, be it resolved that the time for
listing taxes be extended through February 15, 1945.

The following road petitions were approved and ordered forwarded to the
State Highway and Public Works Commission:
1. to build a road starting a t Sam Bryant's home and annexing with the
Bunnlevel road and extending through the farms of I'diarvin L. Bethune, Shep Hammond
and others to the R. E. Byrd's Mill at Fonville. This road is in Stewarts Creek
Township,.and the distance is 22 miles.
2. Beginning at a point on the Layton - Bunnlevel road near the home of
Moddy Brock and Edgar Temple and runs South down to the residence pf Theadore McLamb
on the McLamb road at a distance of approximately three miles, and is known as the
part of the fire line road. This road will serve five families, and also will shorten
the route of the school bus line for at least a distance of five miles which it now
travels im making a circle on a road which there are no families.
3. The road mentioned leads from State Highway No. 210 to State Highway 55,
and begins at a point pn the east side of Highway 210 between the farm of W. 0. Altman
and that of D. W. Denning, and runs eastwardly a distance of about one mile to a point
in highway No.55 at the farm of D. L. Adams.
4. To investigate and see the need of having the road worked which leave
the highway at Joe Lee's home and extend east to the Dunn Erwin '"ighway east of Wilson
H. Lucas, farm. This road serve 15 families or more and is the route Erwin R. F. D. #
mail carrier has to travel.
5. To pull up and maitain that certain road beginning at a point on the
Broadway Mr Pisgah road near the home of Mrs. Margaret W. Slaan and running East
across by the home of Mrs. Mattie W. McLeod to a point on the road at the home of
Lacy Harrington a distance of approximately 1 mile.
The Board granted Beer license to John D. Gautier, Erwin Route 1 at John's Place.
The Board refused to permit beer license to Percy Ferrell, col. Lillington Route##2
for reason of misrepresentation of the facts concerning location.
The Board recessed to reconvene at call of Chairman.
