The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, August 7th, at
10:00 -A M with all members present, also present were the County Attorney and Clerk
to Board.
It is ordered that County taxes be given off to Fire Dept. of Dunn who is
sponsoring carnival at Dunn during month of September.
It'is ordered that $325.00 be accepted as full payment including 1944 taxes
on the property list to C.A.Gilchrist in U.L.R. Township consisting of 177 acres.
It is ordered that the County Tax Collector proceed to advertise for sales,
according to law, the tax liens held by the County on rea&lestate, the taxes on
which for 19A3 have not been paid, the sale to be held the first Monday in
September,1944.
The 'repott'of W.D.Harrington Tax Collector was approved and ordered filed.
The report of Inez Harrington Register of Deeds was approved and ordered filed.
The report of Howard Godwin,C.S.C. was approved and ordered filed.
The following road petition was presented approved by the Board of Commissioners
and ordered forwarded to State Highway & Public Works Commission:
Improvement and maintenance of that road beginning at the convergence
of the Johnsonville Cameron Road and a road known as the wild cat road, and
runs westward to a point one half mile North of Cypress church a distance
of three miles.
