HomeMy WebLinkAbout1101194331 November 1943 The Board of Commissioners of Harnett County met in regular session on Monday, November 1, at 10:00 A M with J.B.Ennis, Chmn. L R Byrd, R.L.Pate, A.A.Cameron, and Fend D.Jackson present. Also present were the County Attorney and the Clerk to Board. It is ordered that R. H.Barba.r of Fuquay Springs be released of penalty of $15.64 for the year 1943 on property in U per Little River Township. It is ordered that Jas. Allen Smart, Stewart's Creek Township be relieved of poll tax for year 1943 on account of being a disabled world war veteran. A report of prepayments collected on the 1943 tax levey was made by H.S. Freeman and approved and ordered filed. A report of W.D.Harrington, Tax Collector was approved and ordered filed. A report of Inez Harrington, Register of Deeds was'approved and ordered filed. A report of Howard Godwin,Clerk of Superior Court was approved and ordered filed. Be it resolved that that property in the Town of Dunn and acquired by Harnett County in the Town of Dunn at a tax foreclosure sale under judgment No. 2026 -A- 1041 be sold to Don Toon, Dunn,N.C. for the sum of $150.00 cash the description as follows: Being that lot or parcel of land in Averasboro Township Harnett County, lying on the East side of Townsend Ave., in the Town of Dunn, conveyed to Don Toon by deed from B.O.Townsend and wife which deed is recorded in Book 202, at page 103 Public Registry of Harnett County. And the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorited to execute deed and the Clerk to the Board will attest same. Be it resolved that the property in Averasboro Township formerly listed to Joe Sasser and acquired by Harnett County at a tax foreclosure sale under a judgment No. 2103 -A -1064 be sold to A.B. Battle, Dunn,N.C. R #3 for the total sum of $60.00 on the 'following terms: $25. cash, $20. November the lst,1943 and $15. December 1st, 1943 with 6% interest. Be a lot on the East side of North Fayetteville Street, Extension, size appro- ximately 37Q by 140 feet. And the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute deed to A B.Battle, and wife Roxanna Battle and the Clerk to the Board will attest tos ame. Be it resolved that the property formerly listed to Wesley Elliott and acquired by Harnett County in the Town of Dunn at a tax foreclosure on a Judgment No. 2032 A 1088 be sold to Will Thompson Dunn,N.C. for the sum of $125. on the following terms: $25.00 cash and $8. per month due and payable on the first day of each month until the full amount with 6% interest is paid. Being Lots Nos. 22 and 23 in the sub - division of B.O.Townsend near the Harnett County Training School Colored in the Town of Dunn, N.C. Lot No. 22 being 26* feet by 1752 feet, No. 23 lot being 26* ft. by 166* feet as shown on Map Book No. 1 at page 60. And the Ch airman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute deed to Will Thompsoh and wife,Leln Matthews Thompson and the Clem to the Board will attest same. Be it resolved that the property acquired by Harnett county at a tax foaclosure sale under Judgment No. SD#1922 A 924 be sold to W 0 Tutor, Fuquay Springs,N.C. for the-total sum of $315.67 cash being 1 lot formerly listed in Buckhorn Township and the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute deed to'W 0 Tutor, and the'clerk to the Board will attest same. Be it resolved that the lot formerly listed by Elmira Brooks, colored in Lillington Township and acquired by Harnett County at a tax foreclosure sale under Judgment No. A 1028 be sold to Bank Street, colored, Lillington,N.C. for the total sum of $25.00 cash, and the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute deed and the Clerk will attest sans. It is ordered that one lot on Fayetteville Street in the Town of Dunn belonging to T.S. Jones Est. be valued at $250.00 for 1939 and 1940 and $300. for 1941 and subsequent year. The auditor was instructed at the request of First Citizens B & T Co. to release-certificate of deposit belonging to Buckhorn Township and deposit same in the savings account at the same rate of interest.
