HomeMy WebLinkAbout08021943r® G)0 August The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session Monday at 10 :00 o'clock A.M.August 2, 1943 -with J.B.Ennis,Chlirman,L.R. Byrd, Ferd D.Jackson, Angus A.Cameron, and R.L.Pate Commissioners. Also present was Henry 0. Strickland,County Attorney and Inez Harrington, Clerk to the Board. • The monthly report of Howard Godwin,C.S.C., presented, approved and ordered filed. The monthly report of W.D.Harrington,Tax Collector, was presented, approved and ordered filed. The monthly report of Inez Harrington,Register of Deeds was presented, approved and ordered filed. The monthly report of Lola OTQuinn, delinquent Tax Collector, was presented, approved and ordered filed. It is ordered that the Tax Collector proceed to advertise the sale of 1942 County Tax liens according to law, and that he conduct the sale of same the first Monday in Sept.,1943. It is ordered that R.L.Godwin,Jr.,Dunn,N.C. be relived in taxes in the amount of # t! tea; on account of car listed to him at the valuation of $50. through an error. Be it resolved that the property acquired by the Harnett County and Town of Dunn at a tax foreclosure sale under Judg #.186T -A897 be sold to George W. Harrington,Dunn,N.C. for the cash $175. with this offer; Beginning at a stake 75 feet East from B.O.Townsend's corner in the Southern margin of East Edgerton Street, extended, a..few hundred yards out side the corporate limits of the Town of Dunn,N.C. and runs thence in a Southerly direction at right angles with said street with line of George L. Cannady 150 feet to a stake, thence in an easterly direction and parallel with said street 54 feet to a stake; thence in a northerly direction at right angles to the southern margin of East Edgerton Street, extended, 150 feet; thence with the Southern margin of said Street in a westerly direction 54 feet to the beginning and being a lot 54 by 150 feet. The Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to execute deed to George W. Harrington and the Clerk .t to the Board will attest same. Be it further resolved that this ordinance and resoltrtion shall be in full force and effect from and after July 1,1943.
