The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Tuesday, July 27 at
10:00 o'clock with J.B.Ennis,Chmn., Ferd D.Jackson,A.A. Cameron & L.R.Byrd, and
R.L.Pate. Also present were H.C.Strickland, County Attorney and Inez Harrington,
Clerk to Board.
It is ordered that Beer license be granted to Miss Addie McGee and Mrs.R.B.
Lee at the Angier Cage in Antier,N.C.
It is ordered that Beer License be granted to Thurman Lee Parrish at
Triangle Service Station at Lillington Cross Road.
It is ordered that Bond in amount of $10,000,00 with Fidelity and
Casualty Company for R.C.Oakley, Constable in Averasboro Twp. was approved and
ordered filed with Clerk of Court.

That R.C.Oakley of Dunn State of North Carolina hereinafter calked the
Principal, and The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, hereinafter called the
Surety, a corporation organized under the laws of the State of New Y rk, with its
home office in the City of New York, in the said State, are held andofirmly bound
unto County Board of Commissioners of Harnett County State of North Carolina
hereinafter called the Obligee, in the sum of One Thousand and 00 /100 ($1,000.00)Doll
Dollars; for the payment whereof to the Obligee the Principal binds himself, his
heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, and the Surety birds itself, its
successors and assigns, jointly and severally firmly by these presents.
Signed, sealed, and dated this 13th day of July,1943
Whereas, the above named principal has been duly appointed or elected to the
office of Constable of the County of Harnett, State of North Carolina for the term
of office beginning on July 5,1943 and ending on Indefinite term.
Now, therefore, the condition of the foregoing obligation is such, that if the
Principal shall faithfully perform such duties as may be imposed on him by law and
shall honestly account for all money that may come into his own hands in his official
capacity during the said term, then this obligation shall be void; otherwise it shall
remain in force; provided, however, that the Surety shall not be liable hereunder for
any loss of public money deposited by or in tilt of the Principal with any bank
when such loss is occasioned by the failure of such bank faithfully to account for
and pay over such money on legal demand; any law, decision, or statute to the
contrary notwithstanding.
This bond is further conditioned that the liability of the surety shall be
fully terminated as to future acts of the principal thirty (30) days after the
receipt by the obligee, of the surety's written notice of cancelation.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That William Dalrymple Harrington,Broadway,N.C.
as Principal, (Hereinafter called Prin4.ipal) and the Maryland Casualty Company, a
corporation of the State- of "Maryland, having its principal office in the City of
Baltimore, Maryland, as Surety, (hereinafter called the Surety) are held and firmly
bound unto the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina in the
penalty of Ten Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($10,000.00) to the payment Whereof,
well aid truly to be made and done, the said Principal binds himself, his heirs,
executors and administrators, and the said Surety binds itself its successors and
assigns, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents -.
THE CONDITION OF THE AFOREGOING- OBLIGATION IS SUCH, that WHEREAS, the said
Principal was appointed Delinquent Tax Collector for the term beginning on the
1st day of July 1943, and ending on-the 15th day-of September 1943.
NOW,THEREFORE, if the said Principal shall, during the term of this bond, well
and faithfully perform all and singular the duties incumbent upon him by reason of
his appointment as said Delinquent Tax Collector, except as hereixafter limited,
and honestly account for all moneys coming into his hands as said Delinquent
Tax Collector, according to law, then this obligation shall be null and void;
it is otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
THIS BOND is executed by the Surety upon the following express conditions, which
shall be conditions precedent to the right of recovery hereunder:
IT IS MUTUALLY UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED BET SIN ALL PARTIES HERETO, that if the
Surety shall so elect, this bond may be cancelled by giving thirty (30) days'
notice in writing to the said Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, North
Carolina and this bond shall be deemed cancelled at the expiration of said thirty
(30) days, the said Wiirety remaining liable for all or any act or acts covered by
this bond which may have been committed by the Patincipal up to the date of such
cancellation, under the terms, conditions and provisions of this bond, and the
Surety shall, upon surrender of this bond and its release from all liability
thereunder, refund the premium paid, less a pro rata part thereof, for the time.
this bond shall have been in force.
And it is Further Mutually Understood and Agreed Between All Parties hereto,
that the Surety shall not be liable to said Board of Commissioners of Harnett
County,N.C. for any loss or lesses resulting -by reason of the failure of the said
Principal to collect any portion or all taxes which he may be chargeable to collect
by reason of his election or appointment as said Delinquent Tax Collector and
that said Surety shall not be liable for failure of the said principal to take any
legal action to eollect such taxes.
And It Is Further Mutuaily Understood And Agreed Between All the Parties.Hereto,
that the said Surety shall not be liable to said Board of Commissioners of Harnett
County,N.C. for any losses resulting to said Board of Commissioners of ;Harnett
County,N.C. by reason of any public moneys being now on general or special deposit
or hereafter placed on general or- special deposit by-the-said Principal, with any
bank, depository, or depositobies, or by reason of the allowance to or acceptance'
by said Principal of any interest thereon, any Law, Decision or Statute of the State
of North Carolina or Ordinance of the said Harnett County to the contrary notwith-
standing.

It is ordered that in -Lite consideration of the payment of 0280.00 to the Orkin
Exterminating Comp.any,Inc., with its Home Office in Atlanta,Ga. but maintaining
branch offices in Fayetteville and other localities, on the first Monday of the
month following the completion of the work to fumigate and disinfect all parts of
the Harnett County Home, with exception of the kitchen and dining roomswith
Hydrocyanic gas (Cyanide), and to kill all bed bugs and bed bug eggs within the
building to the satisfaction of the Board of Commissioners aid the Committee of the
County Home. It is also ordered that the above named company will be paid the
sum of $5.00 per month for the exterminating service for the control of roaches
and mice at the County Home for one yar from date of this meeting, or until
discontinued by written notice.
The Board refused to grant Beer and wine license to Catherine Powers Griffin
at Cricket Service Station two miles north of Dunn on Highway 301 for reasons that
there is objections to Beer and Wine being sold so near to school and there was
complaint as to the conduct at this place of business.
