The Board of Commissioners met in a call meeting on Friday, November 20tkj.,
at 10:00 A. M.
WHEREAS' The Harnett County Board of Commissioners heretofore adopted a
Resolution protesting the proposed relocation of U. S. Highway No. 301 in Harnett
County; And,
WHEREAS said protest was filed with the State Highway and Public Works
Commission'in order that a special hearing might be held on the relocation of
said highway and all interested parties would be afforded an opportunity to be
heard on said question; And,
WHEREAS, said hearing was held at the Community House in Lillington, North
Carolina, on Friday, November 20, 1953, and all interested parties given an
opportunity to present their views of said question; And,
WHEREAS, at the conclusion of said hearing, the State Highway Commissions
appointed to conduct the same, filed a report recommending that the plans for
the relocation of said highway be not changed.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett
County that said board shall not further protest the proposed relocation of
U. S. Highway No. 301 in Harnett County.
Upon motion of Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Lasater, the
foregoing resolution was unanimously adopted.
