HomeMy WebLinkAbout06101953236 JUNE 10, 1953- The Board of County; Commissioners met in a call session on Wednesday, June 10th., at 8 :00 P. M. with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney and the Clerk to the Board. Upon motion made and duly seconded, C.` R. Ammons was appointed Farm Agent for Harnett County for a term of 1 year. Upon motion made and duly seconded T. D. O'W,uinn was appointed Assistant Farm Agent for Harnett County for a term of l year. Upon motion duly made and seconded the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED That the First Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Dunn, North Carolina, be and the same is hereby designated as the official depository of the' county of Harnett for all funds of said county, including such funds as may b,e collected by the Harnett County Tax Collector, and the -saidFirst Citizens Bank & Trust Company shall give bond as by law requited to secure all funds of the "County of Harnett which may be deposited in said bank,' said bond at all times'to be in a principal amount aggregating more than the total deposits of the County of Harnett on any given date; provided, however, that in lieu of said bond, said de- pository;may place in trust with the Wachovia Bank and Trust Company of Raleigh, N. C., or the _Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company of New York City, acceptable securities apporeed by the County Accountant (Auditor) for the purpose of secur ing such deposits, the aggregate amount of such securities to be in a sum not less than the bond required by law. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Harnett County Tax Collector shall daily deposit in the First Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Dunn, North Carolina, to the credit of Harnett County, all funds collected by him or delivered to him for said County, and said depository shall issue daily to such tax collector a receipt for such deposit or deposits, and the 'T'ax Collector shall thereupon deliver said receipt or receipts to the Harnett County Auditor. The,Board recessed to reconvene on Wednesday, June, 17th., at 8:00 P. M.
