The Board will sit as a Board of Equalization and Review on Monday, May
24th, 1952, at 10 :00 o'clock A. M. in the Courthouse.
Upon Motion of Commissioner Holloway, seconded by Commissioner Byrd,
Harnett County P M A was ordered to transfer tobacco acreage allotment on Harnett
County Home property from the Serial No. account in the name of C. Reid Ross
to Serial No. Account in the name of Harnett County for the year 1952 and there-
after until otherwise ordered.

The following Road Petitions were received and placed on file with the Clerk
to the Board:
1. To treat with an all- weather surface that certain road in Grove Township,
Harnett County, beginning at its point of intersection with N. C. Highway No. 40
near the reasidence of Joe Penny and runs thence in a Southerly direction a dis-
tance of five tenths of a mile to the R. L. Turlington homeplace, and then con-
tinues in an Easterly direction a distance of approximately one and five tenths
miles to Coats.
2. To maintain by the State Highway and Public works commision said road being
an outlet for some nine (9) families, and is two (2) miles in length:
Beginning at or near the home of Edison Hayes in Anderson's Creek Township,
and running thence in a northernly direction two miles to the junction with the
Blacktown road near the home of Lemuel Black.
3. To approve and maintain by the State, a road to be located in Grove
Township, Harnett County, N. C. which begins at a point on N. C. Highway # 40
where the lands of W. T. Hodges and B. A. Norris join and running approximately
with the line between them in a Northward direction and over the lands of Herbert
J. Wood, Mrs. Maggie Ennis, Chick Ennis, Lonnie Stanley, W,R. Denning heirs,
Delphia Bailey, Mack Heed Hudson, Harvey V. Barefoot, Joe Johnson and Bailey
Hudson to a point at or near the land lines of Joe Johnson and Bailey Hudson on
hardsurfaced road leadine from Bailey's Crossroads to Coats, N. C. a distance
of approximately two miles. 'A distance of approximately a quarter mile has been
partially constructed on the south end of said proposed road and a distance of
approximately one mile on the North end of said proposed road has been partially
constructed. If constructed and maintained this road would serve as many as eight
families and help them and serve many other people in attending Ebenezer Church,
