This Cause coming . on to be heard ,before the undersigned_upon the appointment of
a Deputy Clerk,of-the SUperior"Court of Harnett County, and it appearing that-the
proper discharge of the duties of the- office of Clerk of the'Superior.Court renders
the appointment of :a Depu -ty Clerk e.:public necessity- -for the common good;, and It._
further appearing after due inquiry and consideration, that Ruby T: Currin is a .dis-
Greet and competent person to discharge the duties of the office of Deputy Clerk
and is a fit and propartperson to occupy said office;
NOW,' THEREFORE, in obedience to public necessity and in o.ompliance'with the laws
of the State of North Carglna as set forth in Seitions 935 and-936 of the..Conso-
lidated Statutes of North Carolina and - the general laws of the State, and`in ex-
ercise of the authority vested in me by law, I:do hereby appo &iity constitUte..and
commission the said Ruby T. Curtin as 'Deputy .Clerk of the Superior Court,Of Harnett
County, with authority to.aot in- as full, free -and ample manner as she is by -law
direcbed. Let her take and subscribe the oath as required by law..

DECEMBER 31st. 1951
The Board of County Commissioners met in a call msession on Monday December,
31, 1951, at 2 :00 P. M. with L. A. Tart, Chairman, B. P. Ingram, Worth Lee Byrd
and H. S. Holloway the appointed commissioner, who will fill the unexpired term of
C. G. Fields resigned, .were - present, R. L. Pate was absent on account of illness.
Upon motion of Commissioner B. P. Ingram, seconded by Commissioner Worth Lee.
$yrd the following Resolution was unanimously adopted:
Whereas, Honorable Robert B. Morgan, Clerk of the Superior Court of Harnett
County has been granted a leave of absence by this Board to enter the United States
Naval Services and Mrs. Elizabeth F. Matthews, has been appointed as Clerk of the
Superior Court of Harnett'. County to serve during the absence of Mr. Morgan, effeot
ive January 1,. 1952;_ And,
-
Whereas, Thurman C. Ennis, C. P. A. was heretofore requested by this Board to
make a full and complete audit of the records of accounts in the office of the Clerk
of The Superior Court from July 1, 1951 to and including .December 31, 1951; And
WHEREAS, the said Thurman C. Ennis, C.P. A. has made such audit and has this
day filed his FReport of Audit ", with this Board, which report shows that the acc-
ounts of said orrice, and the records pertaining thereto, are in due and proper
form and regular in every respect, and that all receipts and disbursements of said
office from July 1, 1951, through December 31, 1951, have been properly a000uiited
for;
NOW,' THEREFORE; be it resolved that the said Robert B. Morgan and the Surety on
his bond be released and discharged from liability thereto;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOmiED, :11d it is hereby ordered that the records and account
of said office bo transferred to Honorable Elizabeth F. Matthews,.Clerk of the
Superior Court of'Harnett County, and iit is - further ordered that all funds belong-
' ing to the Office of the Clerk of the uperior Court of Harnett County, whether,;.on
deposit or not,:-.be transferred.fofthwith to the account of Elizabeth F. Matthews
as Clerk or the Superior Court of. Harnett County.

void for want of jurisdiction or other irregularities, and shall diligently preserve
and take care of all books, records, and papers and property which have come or may

represented by funds on deposit in The Bank of Lillington, Lillington, North
Carolina; The Commercial Bank, Dunn, North Carolina,; and First Citizens Bank and
Trust Company, Dunn, North Carolina, as said sum is classified and set out and re-
flected in the audit report submitted to Hon. L. A. Tart, Sr., Chairman of the
Board of Commissioners of Harnett County this day.
The said sum referred to herein is accepted by the undersi -ned as final
accounting with my immediate predecessor in office as Clerk of Superior Court
