THE BOARD OF COMMMSSIONERS MET IN A CALL SESSION ON MONDAY JULY "23, 19:51,
at 2:00 P. M. with L. A. Tart, Chairman, Worth Lee Byrd, C. G. Fields, B. P.
Ingram and R. L. Pate present. Also the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board.
Mrs. S. R. McKay, County Librarian Appeared before the Board and presented the
budget for the Harnett County Library for,year 1951 and 1952.
R. L. Pate moved seconded by Worth Lee Byrd that an additional $600.00 be
appropriated in Harnett County Library Board, Inc. (Motion carried)
R. L. Pate moved seconded by B. P. Ingram that Jim Manning be appointed
a member of E. Erwin Sanitary Dist. Board -to replace Coy Lucas who refused to
serve. (Motion carried)
R. L. Pate moved seconded -by Worth Lee Byrd that the Auditor be authorized
to charge off A D 0 check No. 291049. dated. 11 -1 -49 from
sheet. Motion carried.

Ingram that the following resolutions
BE IT RESOLVED-BY-THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF Harnett County that
there shall be and there is hereby levied and assessed against all taxable
property within the County of Harnett, taxes at the respective rates as set forth
below for the use of the County, per 4100 valuation of said property, for the
fiscal year 1951 -52;

This cause coming on to be heard before "the undersigned upon the appointment of a
Deputy Register of Deeds of Harnett County, and it appearing that the proper dis
charge of the duties of the office of the Register of Deeds renders the appointment
of a Deputy Register of Deeds a public necessity for the common good; and it further
appearing after due inquiry and consideration that Velma S. Edwards is -a discreet
and competent person to discharge the duties of the office of Deputy Register.of
Deeds,and a fit and properrperson to occupy said office;
Now, °Therefore, in obedience to public necessity and in compliance with -the laws
of the State of North Carolina as seb forth in Sections 161 -6 General Statutes of
North,. Carolina and the general laws of the State, and in exercise of the authority
vested in me by law, I do hereby appoint, constitute and commission the said Velma
Edwards Deputy Register of Deeds of Harnett County, with authority to act in as
eull,,free ample a manner as she is by laws directed. Let her take and subscribe the
oath as requited by law.
